Default Birds and their presents

The pets got their gifts while dh was still here. Don't have the camera, so can't post pix but this was so cute, had to tell you.

Jesse the cockatiel got a thing with a mirror that spins. He loves to look at himself and say "Pretty bird". Usually it'll take a bird a few days to not be shy with any new thing in his cage, but Jesse went right over to that thing - didn't even wait till my hand was done putting it up.

I think he left it to eat, and went right back over to admire his beautiful self.

Jake got a toy with two halves of coconut, one up, one down, and I put some papya chunks in it for a snack. Plus a big bell. We caught him this morning snuggled up to the coconuts, asleep, lol. He was up half the night ringing that bell, so he is still exhausted.

Minnie, the lovebird has the most toys. She is pretty tough on stuff, but does not manage to break them as fast a Jake so she still has bunches of them. And try to remove them, and she really gives me what for. So most of them stay. I'm too soft on her.

so she has a whole amusement park in her cage. When I put the new one in, she went to the other side of the cage to make sure it was safe for a while. Then she came back, wanting to play. But so much stuff in the way!

I heard a racket in there and peeked in. There she is, beating the snot out of the older stuff, like she wanted to knock it down so there was more room for the new thing, so she could see it and play with it better. Finally, she let me take down a couple things. Now she's happy - you can tell, cuz she whistled when it was done.

The dogs... well you know dogs. We got a present! YAY! It squeaks! YAY! Even the brilliant ones are not as complicated as birds.

This is a fun thread! I really enjoy reading it. I can just picture these scenes too! What was the toy Millie got? I don't see a description of that. Do they all have separate cages. Are they close to each other?

Our cats got FOOD for Xmas... that is all they care about these days! FOOD FOOD...

I got my son's kitties FOOD (various treats) too. When they moved last month, I saw the kajillion toys all over the floors...EVERYWHERE... they don't need any more toys. I do have that heat mat for them too.
