Default Arizona rains

How are all of you Phoenix area people faring with the rains?

I was nervous last night when rolling water was only 3' from my back door and the Greenbelt across the street was almost totally full and roaring with white caps.

Another inch of rain and I would have needed a boat. Imagine drowning in Arizona!

AZ is a funky place to be right now! I pray all are safe and dry and comfortable. Hang in there.

The snows are in the far northern part of the state and I wouldn't want to be there right now.

We are in Arizona near Las Vegas, Nevada and have had 4" of rain in the last four days and we are sick of it!!

We did not move here to see rain and clouds; we moved here for sunny days and cool nights.

We are surrounded by mountains and they are snow covered but fortunately for us snow haters we didn't get any snow at all so we dodged the bullet this time.

Today was just beautiful with sunshine, no wind and just a few white fluffy clouds. The birdies are singing, quail in the back yard again and we are smiling again.

The only thing good about the rain is the desert will have beautiful cactus blooms in the Spring.

Due to global warming, we are in a 10 year drought here in AZ so this amount of rain and snow are welcome except for how full the gullies are running.

The desert is just not the terrain to hold any water at all.

I felt sad for the house in Cave Creek. Here it is by a basically dry wash and suddenly, the flash floods have the foundation in jeopardy.

The weather pattern has changed dramatically in my lifetime here in AZ.
