Default Free kindle download for PC (not mac)

Amazon sent me a FREE download for Kindle on PC. Thought I would share it. Its a book reader. You download books, and it will store them or read them for you.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...cId=1000426311

Its only for Windows XP, Vista or Win7. Sorry mac users. one is coming for you soon. anyway, I thought it was a great find for free. You must BUY books to go on it, but there are several libraries around the USA that have FREE downloads from their audio/visual library if they have the proper software for home customers.

Enjoy!

Default I love my Kindle

I wonder how long Amazon has been selling ebooks for laptops and computers?

I have a Kindle and love it. I think it is great to be able to load a book on a laptop, much easier for those who love to read lying down or in bed.

So if this is the first time Amazon has been offering this, I say "Yay!"

I think the Kindle for PC download has been available since at least sometime around Thanksgiving.

I've had it on my laptop for several months now.

I tend to use my actual Kindles a bit more, but it is nice to have it on my laptop. I can download book samples to whichever Kindle or the laptop and sample the books before actually buying.

Amazon has free books too...a lot of them on the Bestselling list. (new books, not just out-of-copyright books!) Some of them are pretty good. You do have to look for them sometimes, but if you go to their Bestsellers list, you can scroll thru it and look for the free books. Sometimes if they're from a famous author (like Harry Turtledove) they become a "Bestseller" pretty quick. I've gotten at least 10 books from various authors like that.

There's also a few blogs around that like to post announcements for the free books. I dont know the URLs, but you can probably Google for something like that.
