Anybody should hold on to the safety rail REALY TIGHT when stepping out of the tub, just in case she might catch her toe in the shower curtain or something. HAHAHAHAHA, just KIDDING, who would do something stupid like THAT? (whew)

I've caught my toe in the track of the sliding shower door. (that hurts!)
Done it more than once. I've also slipped getting into the shower (because the cleaning service we had at the time cleaned the shower the day before and no clue what they used, but it made the shower floor so slick it was worse than trying to walk on ice...they actually did that to me a couple of times)

I worked with a woman once who slipped in the shower, grabbed the curtain and hooked herself in the eye with the curtain hook! Now THAT takes talent.
Of course, before MS I used to close my eyes when rinsing the shampoo out of my hair! I forgot to take my contacts out the other day and ended up losing one in the shower. Took me a few minutes to realize the ON wasn't back and I wasn't going blind. LOL

We installed a jacuzzi tub in '01, way before I had symptoms...now I really have to be careful...I have slipped more than once, and grabbed onto the shower curtain...luckily, I was saved.
I do catch my toe on the edge of the tub when getting out...it's higher than our old tub, and I can't seem to get my foot as high as in the old days So I am very careful when exiting the tub... All I can say is be careful... Ironically, I can't use the tub as a tub anymore, due to the fact that I'm so stiff that I can't get myself out of said tub any longer...

Baking soda or products with it will make surfaces very very slippery!
We have an over-sized rubber mat in the tub/shower with texture so it really helps with traction.

In another bathroom, we took the shower out and put in one of those walk-in bathtubs. (that thing is nice) It's got a super fast drain, so you're not sitting in there forever getting cold while waiting for the water to drain. It's a little step down to get out, but right now it's not impossible for anyone in the house to make that little step. I'm freezing right now, I might go warm up in that bathtub. (it has jacuzzi jets...or at least little holes for the air to shoot thru to make jacuzzi-like bubbles.)

I no longer close my eyes when shampooing, but also I toe up to the edge of the tub, and press the tips of my toes into the side wall, just for extra stablity while I scrub my head. All the wobbling back and forth can make a girl dizzy.
btw, I am on my 12th towel rack that hangs just outside the shower. I told the DH last time it came down to bolt it the the STUD, not just sink it into the dry wall. So far this one has lasted. nothing worse than being naked, and wet, and doing a face plant on the side of the toilet.

I have a separate shower in my bathroom. I've never used the tub. It's got the jacuzzi jets and it's really big but I'm afraid I'd never get out of it once I got in!
I've nearly fallen getting out of the shower, though. I have to step over the edge of the track the shower doors are in and more than once I've stubbed my toe there. Ouch!! I've also gotten the shower door off-track before and it's nearly impossible to get it back in. I think it's because I hang onto the rail on the shower door while I'm in there and pull it towards me too far.
