Oh, man! That doth sucketh in so many ways.

During my "Peggy Fleming years", I trashed my tailbone and can truly empathize with you. :(

another idiot doctor....

Ortho takes more x-rays and says the broken vert is wedged, so he needs an mri to see how badly it is on my spinal cord. If it is too deep they will need to operate and blow it up with a balloon and fill it with cement. In the meantime, I am to go get fitted for a back brace.

They schedule the MRI...for Feb 24! And the follow up with him about the MRI cannot be done until March 2! WTH?? I have a broken bone in my spine that is pressing on my spinal cord, and I am to wait....

Gets even better. I call to schedule the fitting for the brace.... Medicaid will not cover it because I am over 21, and my secondary insurance will not cover it unless I pay the $1500 deductible. Unfortunately, I do not have the $500+ this is going to cost to get the brace.

Now I am waiting to hear back from the nurse at the ortho to see what she wants to do, and waiting to hear back from neuro since she wanted to do another set of MRI this month anyway.... and she can get me in before the 24th.

As of now, I am up a creek without a paddle til march.

owwwie Legz!! I bounced down the stairs with a 2 year old in my arms about 12 years ago... fractured my tailbone and aggravated a couple of discs. Koala's right...ice does help if you can stand it. My tailbone could, but the mid spine area couldn't!

Ouchie! I broke my tailbone giving birth to a 10 1/2 pounder. Its not
fun. I hope they get all that insurance carp out of the way so you can
rest and get better!

Whats wrong with people? It seems like this is something that cannot
wait!

Can you call the patient advocate at the hospital where you were seen? They can normally speed things along, and open doors that usually remain hidden. Like free programs for needed supplies.

Hang in there.
