The BATHTUB.... now this is going to get a bit gross.

Oreo is our supreme hunter. No other cat we have ever had does this:

She catches live things (I won't go into detail) and brings them to the bathtub and "plays" with them, and eats them. (we have a cat door) If we are lucky, it is only a mouse, and the liver is left behind. But I won't go into detail about other poor souls she has brought to the tub. If this happens in the daytime, I can hear it and rescue...but sometimes we miss that opportunity.

I have a spritzer of Chlorox Cleanup right next to the tub for the inevitable cleanup she leaves. Now that she is older (9) it is not as bad. But when she was 1-3, it was awful!

When I was much much younger we had a wondeful cat. She was the best mother cat we have ever had. We would be delighted when she would catch a bug. She would tear off one leg so she could teach her little kitties how to catch it. With just 3 legs it couldn't move very fast. Eventually she would let them be and make them catch the poor bugs alone.

Our cats favorite toy is old shoestrings. She becomes a little kitten again when the old shoe string comes out.

I think we equate "stuff" as part of our lives/memories. Its hard to let
go. Just remember the memories live in your heart and mind.

You're right, Sox. It's just lumber and nails (and fabric and glass). It is the memories that make something special. And those can never be bought. :)

It's just sad to let some of our funiture go because that do have memories attached. But I love what Sox said and totally agree.

Awww! It is hard to let those kinds of things go. I completely agree with Sox. It's not the things themselves but the memories attached to them that are important.

As of the space . . .re-purpose the room with things you have in your house. Your trying to save money so don't buy anything. If the lighting is good in there, make it a "sitting" room with a chair or 2, a little table, and a lamp. Or move the other table in there. Or even leave it as it is and enjoy having some open space. Heck, the cats sure are. LOL Make it their playroom. Put their beds and toys in there.

Kel, I thought of something you might try....Sock Skating. My kids would love
an empty room to sockskate in. Let me know how it goes if you try this!

I sock skate (unintentionally) all the time! :o :D

The cats seem to enjoy it. Tigger was playing in there last night and had room to flip all around. He picks up his toys in his mouth and flings them in the air then runs after them. Now he has room to do this!

LMAO!!! I imagined myself sock skating and then read your post and choked on my water. I have carpet so there is no sock skating but at my parents . . .:D

Sox - You are too cute! However, I have to admit that I do this at my parents intentionally sometimes. That kid in me keeps coming out.:D

I can apparently sock skate without the socks on.

What is it about numb heels that make the foot so slippy?
