I've been watching stuff about this since the earthquake hit Chile last night. They bumped most of my favorite tv talk show that airs on Fox News at 2am for the early reports of injured people in the earthquake.

I've been trying to find a Hawaiian webcam to watch for the tsunami, but most of the webcam sites that I've found for Hawaii have had their servers knocked offline because there's so many people with the same idea as me trying to watch the webcams.

The people of Hawaii have headed upcountry as of this hour...I'm praying for them, too...so many of the islanders depend on tourism for their livelihood...don't want them to suffer any further than they have due to the recession...
and those terrible pics from Chili!! It reminded me of the San Francisco earthquake in the 80s, with the double decker bridge collapsed...their buildings were a lot sturdier than Haiti's though...but still...prayers for all who suffer from the world's latest calamity...

It's very scary. No matter how well off a country is they're never ready for something like this. And the tsunami that's predicted to happen. It's like reading the book of Revelation.

We have a friend coming in from Hawaii today. He will be here shortly (DBF is getting ready to pick him up at the airport) but his wife is still in Hawaii as she had to work. Pretty scary! I am keeping everyone in my prayers and hoping our friend's wife will be ok. Currently, the phones are all out.

Edit: Phew! Our friend's wife just called. She is fine so far but didn't go to work today. Hoping she stays safe.

Ya know, Kell, every time one of these horendous "natural disasters" happens, I think, is Amegeddan(sp) really coming in 2012? Is all these recent events, the beginning of the end?

I think maybe God is angry and disappointed with us. I wonder if we have time to change that, or was this all pre-ordained?

I'm skeeered..

I will be keeping everyone in my thoughts for both the earthquake and up coming tsunami. It's unbelievable all these natural disasters that have been happening.

They've canceled several of the tsunami warnings. I think Japan and Russia might still have one they're waiting for (and they just had an earthquake too, according to Fox News)

Fox News is reporting that Japan has issued a tsunami warning. Not sure if that counts for Russia tho.

I think they said on the news that Japan has also just had an earthquake today...so I dont know if the tsunami warning they just issued is due to that quake, or the Chile quake.

I dont think the earthquakes have anything to do with any upcoming Armageddon.

Chile is an old pro at earthquakes. They have had the largest ever recorded at 9.5! this one was 8.8 which makes it 500 times stronger than the one that hit haiti, but the damage so far isnt nearly what haiti went through. Poor haiti is now facing the rainy season in about a week. Chili has very strong building standards and thats gonna save loads of lives.

The water damage isnt panning out to be as bad as feared so far. One small island past hilo (coconut island) was swallowed by the water, but its used to being hit. it has been under several times, in several storms. The early warning systems rang off as expected, giving folks loads of time to prep and get ready. Much better technology at work.

2012 will come, and 2012 will go. We will either be standing or we wont. Tons of folks have predicted the end of times, and so far, not one has been correct.

I haven't gone onliine yet to see if the resort where we stay in Hawaii got hit by waves...it's pretty close to the ocean...
I used to worry about things like pole shifts, end of the world type things...now I just think about today...because it's all I have. Right now. And I'm spending it at NT!!
