Default Cordless Anywhere Lamp

Has anyone had experience with this cordless lamp--think it's the one I've seen on TV?
http://www.google.com/product_url?q=...hl=en&sa=title

It gets 5 stars on Amazon, but from only one user. I'm wondering how long the three little batteries last? I need something beside my recliner so I can read, but not have a cord across the floor for somebody (me) to trip over.

Lots of reviews here, most of them are unhappy.

took me 6 pages of surfing the web to find it uses 3 AA batteries. I will also tell you Walmart sells a 4 pack of rechargables with the charger made by kodak for around $10!

Here's mine, 500 hours on 2 AAA (but not on the blinkin' beacon setting).

So...is that a head lamp? Is that comfortable for reading?

I was scratching my head...how come the review I looked at (on Amazon) gave it 5 stars and the one Legzz found only had two? Aha! There are two different lamps! The Cordless Anywhere Lamp and the Cordless Anywhere READING Lamp! The "Reading" one got only 2 stars.

Maybe I'll just use a flashlight.

Yes, it's far more ideal than anything else I've used, including those silly little clamp lamps that go on the book itself. It's also perfect for reading in bed as no matter your position, if you can read it, it's lighted.

Gee, campers and hikers might like them too!

Cool, thank you, Cindy. (Or thank you, Cool Cindy) I just checked into the Petzl headlamps on Amazon and they all get great ratings. I don't need flashing lights, and found one for 20 bucks that looks like it would be perfect.

Ever try to read while camping and hold a flashlight at the same time, or try to see what you are cooking by the overly bright Coleman lantern light while the bugs swirl into your food?

I've got an old Petzl headlamp that has a halogen bulb in it. It runs off one OR two batteries when needed. It has an adjustable beam. It's been through hell over the years and has at least 5000 hours of use on it. I had to buy a new band after about 20 years, because the original lost it's elasticity, but other than that, it works just as well as it did the day I bought it. It came with a spare bulb tucked into the watertight seal compartment that covers the batteries. That bulb is still there, unused.

They are pricey but you get what you pay for, and these are worth every penny. Good company, good customer service, excellent headlamps.
