Default Got back into the pool at the Y today

I haven't been in my excersize classes for two weeks. Last week it was because of the grand kids coming and the week before was because of the grandkids coming! Our instructor was going to be out for the week and they had a drill sargeant for an instructor and I knew I couldn't do that and be rested enough for the kids coming in. So I go back today and the drill instructor is still there!!!! Our class is Silver splash, geared towards seniors! There is another class called aqua challenge and I think she must teach that one also. I am one of the youngest ones in the class and she pointed me out and told me that I was one of them that was young enough that should be able to keep up with her!!!!! If she tries that again I'm going to have to say something to management. I hope that's not her! I am not a confrontational person at all so I hope I don't have to. I did tell her today that I have MS and am not able to keep up with her. But my muscles sure reminded me that I haven't been in the pool for awhile!

Glad you got back in the pool. It's tough getting back into exercise when you've been a way a while. But it's better you took the time off so you could enjoy your grandkids. I used to take a silver sneakers low impact class at the Y. I was the youngest but everyone, including the instructor, knew I had limitations so it was a nice class to take. I hope to join the MS aquatics class here at our town pool as soon as I have the time.

I don't know if it was a bad MS day or just beat from the work out yesterday but I didn't go today. I think I am going to take the aqua joints for about a week or so until I get my muscles to say yes!

Or maybe it is the heat now. It is in the high 70s low 80s now and I'm in the pool for 90 minutes then the job or dressing. I may have to pull out the cooling vest soon

Wow I can't function in that heat at all.

I want to go swimming so bad or do a water exercise class. But our local pool is kept so warm that I can't function. And the next closest pool is at least a half hour away.

I hope you can get back into your exercise groove without too much trouble.

Hopefully your normal instructor will be back the next time you go because that lady sounds horrible. No one signed up for boot camp, she needs to learn some compassion.

Good luck!

glad you told her about your MS and that you can not keep up with her, that age is deceiving not to assume... I added that part hehehehe

Remember though when you go, to follow your cues, so not to overdo, as you may have... hugssss, sarah
