My daughter and I were joking about starting up a "Sick in Bed" Channel, with the kinds of shows you'd watch if you were sick in bed.
We both agreed that we're apt to watch certain kinds of shows (or AVOID certain kinds) if we're sick in bed. We also agreed that, realistically, we wouldn't all watch the same shows. So. If you were putting together a "Sick in Bed" channel, what shows would you put on it?

Definitely Marx Bros. movies...and Rocky and Bullwinkle...and lots of comedies and chick flicks.
I remember that Norman Cousins had written a book about how he was healed from a very serious illness by watching funny movies...the docs felt that the endorphins produced by him laughing helped speed up his healing. As they say, laughter is the best medicine

.......hmmmmm
i guess i would say.....ANYthing but cooking channels, plastic surgery documentarys, crime scene investigations, NEWS channels, Mega Storm, "It Could Happen Tomorrow" cr@p.... ...I guess that pretty much rules out ALL of modern-day TV i definitely second the notion to stick with the oldies! TV was so 'innocent' back then...... The 'Pink Panther' ! and Fred Flintstone .. Now THAT makes 'sense' !! AMEN to that!! |

I would want any show you don't really have to concentrate on like HGTV but could still watch all day.

Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, D i c k Van Dyke, The Munsters.......all the oldies. Never had to worry about what they might say next. Now......we just have to worry about the commercials!

I also remember growing up watching Perry Mason re runs at noon, now my husband and I watch them at noon during his lunch break. Well every once in a while when the kids have already eaten and are off playing. Otherwise we sit at the table and all eat lunch together. |
