Thanks everyone for the prayers! You guys are the greatest!
Saw the dermatologist today, and most of the moles that caused concern look healthy. I do have one that we need to keep an eye on, but so far it's still small enough not to be an immediate concern. He wants to see me again in six months to keep an eye on it. Think I have a keeper this time around. He called my scars from previous biopsies "battle wounds" Play on words like that tickle me to death.

So relieved for you, Jenn. Isn't it amazing how much comfort just a few little words from a doctor can bring?!

Hi Jenn,
I had had so many moles and odd looking things removed over the years. I have had Basel cell on the lower eyelid, which they thought was a tiny cyst. Nope! Since then I had many pre-cancerous lesions removed. Biopsies said most likely to turn to Squamous cell so I needed to have more/others taken out. Right now, the vain person in me won't go out because two weeks ago my biopsy showed more solar damage, I had to return to get a lesion removed off the bridge of my nose. Then go back and have it cauterized for any cells in the surrounding area that came back bad. I have this big, ugly, scab on the bridge of my nose. I can see it and go cross eyed. I have to stay out of the sun, because it blistered with the burn of the cautery. It looks wet, and is itchy. I can put a band-aid on it and go out, but band aids pull my skin off. Must be covered for the sun. This is damage from eons ago when I was younger, and foolish, and laid in the sun. Fair skin, fair eyes, blonde hair and burnt as a kid. No sunscreen back then.

Thanks everyone!
Lady, sorry to hear about the basal cell stuff. My dad has had to have it removed from his nose twice. Between that and his baldness - he never goes out without a rimmed hat on. On particularly sunny days, he always makes sure his nose is covered with sunscreen. Yeah, my family bats a thousand with all the fun stuff. Between him and my mom's melanoma, my dad was very insistant that my brother and I be very aware of our moles. All the ones I've had removed were what they termed "precancerous". On the good news front - he checked and none of the ones removed have come back. Sun is a hit and miss thing for me since I love spending time outside. I unfortunately have a chemical allergy to sunscreen, so can't go higher than 8 without the chance of getting hives and a chemical burn. I miss level 12 since that was the most effective for me, but I can't find it anywhere anymore. I have to reapply more often than I would like if I spend long times outside since it's a lower level, but it keeps me from burning.
