Default just once i would like to have a doctor say...

We got your test results back and we didn't find anything else wrong with you. But no, this never happens. So my bloodwork showed my thyroid acting up again which is not the thyroid; it is the pituitary gland in my brain that is being attacked by my immune system telling my thyroid it needs to make more hormones. Yeah I didn't quite get that either.

Then I come home and check to see how my friend is doing and she is apparently in the hospital for the next 4 days. She was having migraines and dizzy spells. Then her legs started tingling and went numb, then she was having balance issues, and she woke up this morning and could not see. She is legally blind in the right eye and the left eye isn't much better and they cannot figure out what is wrong with her... so they decided to check her into the hospital for a 5 day round of IVSM. This sounds so awfully familiar and I am praying it is not what is sounds like.

I'm terrified any time I have to get a test done now. Sending good vibes to both you and your friend.

Sorry Legzz, I hope yours is a false positive and that your friend will be well after the IVSM with no further symptoms.

I too am sorry that your friend is ill Legzz.

My husband has been blind in one eye since childhood and when he had a small stroke during his bilateral knee replacement surgery a year ago, his only working eye was affected. He couldn't see at all for some time, so I can well imagine how your friend must be feeling.

You didn't say whether or not your friend has a diagnosis yet or not (unless I missed something in another thread), bit I hope her symptoms can soon be sorted with a very simple explanation.

Feel better Sweety..

HA HA But Sal...it IS in my head. LOL

As for my friend, still no diagnosis. The MRI showed swelling and excessive fluid so they did a spinal tap to draw out some of the access fluid and are hoping the roids will bring down the swelling, but they still can't figure out what caused it and she is told she has a 50/50 chance of regaining sight in the right eye. So it is going to b e a wait and see game and hoping the ivsm works.

How frightening! It's bad enough when you know MS is messing with you, but to have all these things happen and not know why is worse yet.
I hope your friend is better soon, with something that can be fixed.
(((Leggs))), you're not alone. I think we're pretty much all with you on no more bad news in the health dept thing..
