Yes a size 23 is too small if you want to look at red blood cells, but why not ask your phlebotomist to draw an extra tube for you to take home, next time he/she draws blood? The tubes would ideally need to be heparinized to prevent clotting anyway, and you won't have the ability to do that yourself.

Well, I just ordered all the hardware required to "see" what's going on. Read reply too late and ordered mostly 23g but I did add 2 21g to order. Is 23 too small if I just want to spin/seperate and not look at shapes under micro? I ordered 3 different types of tubes because I dont know which is the one that will seperate the best. SST? We'll see.
I can't wait. I love diagnosing mechanical problems such as cars and let me tell ya's..I never ever thought of checking my own oil! Give me 2 weeks to post pictures/results. Koala - Hi and thanks. I think the answer would be no so now I don't have to ask. |

Back from vacation, never drew/spun my own blood BUT I had infusion site draw a tube and spin it for me. Red/whites/fats ect don't show like Dr Oz said. Reds do, but the majority of white/yellow is plasma and whites are a tiny thin band between red & plasma, not like I thought he said. They wouldn't let me take my own blood home in a tube (sheesh) so least I had someone take a blurry cell phone pic of it. Now I have collection equip that will sit on shelf until I decide to do it myself and take a pic. By the way, red/white/plasma do seperate on their own if left alone for a week or 2. The place had sample drawn from me 1 week before and it was almost perfectly seperated.
