I found myself in the kitchen last night talking to DH2B's daughter and it reminded me of the other times when I was in that very same spot having a heart to heart with the very same girl. She is growing up very quickly.

And yesterday when I was feeling sick, DD6 climbed into my bed and read me every book she could get her hands on. Then she brought me her portable DVD player and layed down and watched cartoons with me all day. She even snuggled up next to me and took a nap. We didn't get out of bed until after 3:00!

Tonight I made DH2B's DD favorite dinner. (sam's spaghetti!) and Dh2B was off tonight so we got to sit down as a family and have a meal followed by a couple of hours playing the Wii.

I have had one of those moments where it hit me that this is the life I wanted. And our little makeshift family has become a real family, where his and mine have simply become ours.

It made me feel fuzzy. Figured I would share.

I look forward to hearing stories about your little family. DD chasing bugs, or saving possums, or turning up the heat...too cute. You should write a book. you have a good writing style.

I admit it, I am in love with all of them. Even the fur babies. The kids are both at very good ages. 6 and curious about everything and 12 somewhere between a kid and a teenager, but one who listens and has had enough things go wrong in her life to appreciate these moments as much as I do. And they are both super excited that we are finally officially engaged.
