That looks really nice...I want to do that with ours, but DH wants it on a stand IMHO, it takes up too much room on a stand, and I'd rather it was on a rotating arm.

Good for you - you probably feel great with it finally done! I love the way the tvs look when they are mounted on the wall. But both our chairs are slightly off to the side of the tv on opposite sides and only the couch is head on to the tv. So we mounted our tv onto the pole on the stand and can turn the tv if only one of us is watching it. But I still think it looks nicer right on the wall!

We have two like that. My mom has the wall mounted 60 inch plasma upstairs in the great room. I've got a 32 inch LCD HDTV in my bedroom. When I had my built-in desk built last december, the designer pretty much designed the desk around where the tv was going to hang. Looks great.

Hanging the tv was a pain in the <censored>. I'd called Best Buy and the Geek Squad guy who came to my house to install the tv was a moron. He said I didnt have any studs in the wall. (what did he think my bookcase and cabinetry were hanging from?? The studs are 16 inches apart!)

He tore up the wall behind the tv. I made him leave when he said he was going to hang it without securing the mount to the studs.

I called the electricians who rerouted my electricity for me before the desk was installed and had them come back and mount it for me. Cost a heck of a lot more, and they had to reinforce things because the Geek Squad moron ripped up the wall behind the tv. But, that tv's not coming down unless the house does.

Because the Geek screwed up the wall behind the tv (he mis-measured the tv) the tv isnt centered, and couldnt be centered (it's a bit low hanging, instead of centered right in the middle where they normally hang tvs) The electricians reinforced the mounting, and covered up the holes with some pre-painted shelving they bought at Home Depot.

I'll never allow Best Buy to touch my tv's or my computers ever again. At least I stimulated the economy of the local electricians. They charged more than Best Buy, but they did a waaaaaay better job!

I had a wall mount for our old tube tvs and when we upgraded to LCD I just used the same mounts to pop the LCDs up in the air. its so much easier to see from bed. I mounted the 60 inch in the LR as well with a mount that swivels, so you can arrange it to be seen from anywhere in the room.

its awesome! congratulations!
