Default Took a spill...

at Walmart today. I slipped on water that was on the floor. It was so weird because I felt like I was falling in slow motion. I twisted my ankle, smashed my knee, and smashed my shoulder. Now all of those are hurting along with my other knee, back and jaw. A bunch of people saw me slip and fall and one guy offered and gave us his name and phone number in case we needed someone to verify that I fell.

It took forever for an employee to get a manager over to where I was. Then suddenly there were quite a few managers and even some lady who looked like she worked in the office but wasn't saying much. They had their little clipboards and folders (if I wasn't hurting so much I would have laughed) and had us fill out a report. I only filled out the report in case I was hurt worse than I realized and we made sure to write down that guy's name and phone number who saw me fall. The manager asks if anyone saw me fall making it sound like he expected us to say no -- you know like I was faking it. Sure the highlight of my day laying on the floor pretending that I fell so I could fill out a little report.

While we waited forever to get a wheelchair for me the manager tries to blame the water on a customer pushing a wet cart or a spill by a customer. My DH took great pleasure in pointing out the water that was dripping off the ceiling and even showed the route the water was taking to get from the ceiling to the floor. For pete's sake quit trying to blame other customers for your crappy roof!!

So here we are waiting and waiting and they bring me a scooter. Well my arm hurt so much I couldn't even lift it to work the controls. I have never driven a scooter so how the heck was I going to do it with one hand, my whole body shaking and not crash into customers and the shelves?

So we wait and wait again for them to finally bring me a crappy, gross, run down wheelchair. I was afraid to sit in the thing because the bottom of the seat looked like I was going to fall right through!

My DH and DD are playing with their cell phones snapping pictures of the water, my red marks and my bruises that were starting to show. Okay enough already!!

So my DD is pushing me in the wheelchair trying to steer it and she's texting her friend. Then she stops pushing so she can take a picture of me to send to her friend!

Once we got home and I rested I felt a little better. I'm sore and very tired. Wonder how much bruising I'll have tomorrow? Let's hope not much!

Note to self: don't slip in a store, it takes that much longer to finish your shopping and go home!
