Default School starts tomorrow!

DD is starting first grade tomorrow. We met her teacher today who seems really nice. AND... the little girl next door and one of her bff's from last year are in her class! Then we headed over and said hi to last year's teacher (who I absolutely LOVE!!) and she had a really great opinion of the new teacher.

Of course I overdid it today with the last minute things and trip to school. So now I am wishing I could find a replacement spine on craigslist... ebay seems against replacement body parts now a days

Follow up with pcp wed, infusion fri, ortho mon, and... I am sick of doctors already!

Default Memories

Wow, when I read this post it brought back so many memories of the kids starting school.
I also realized that this is the first year I do not have any children in school, the youngest graduated from college in May.
My DD starts school on Monday but she is the teacher!!
I did do some 'school' shopping though, bought nieces & nephews some school supplies and some clothes.
I will NOT miss the utter chaos in the house the first day of school though!

Hope your DD has a wonderful first day [and year] of first grade!

I'm Jealous. I loved the elementary school years. I was involved, the kids seemed so little and enthusiastic about everything (including Mom). Now they're so "cool", both off to college trying to hide their nervousness and homesickness. We had some wonderful years.

Well, aside from DD trying to flush her breakfast down the toilet this morning... yes, yes she did!

Aside from that, this morning went off without a hitch. She was up, dressed, lunch and snacks packed and ready to roll on time this morning. Unfortunatey her bff who lives next door and is in the same class this year woke up sick with a fever and didn't make it this morning. Poor thing, she was so looking forward to starting school this morning.

After seeing the extensive book collection in her classroom yesterday, DD could not wait to start school. It's weird though all of her friends from the bus stop and the big sister next door started middle school this year. It was awfully quiet this morning.

I have grands starting school, all over the place. Day Care, Kindergarden, 4th grade, 6th grade and College Soph. My stepgrands are all working on college - 22, 20 and 18. Five GrandNieces and nephews - 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 11th.

First grade is the bestest of all. Good luck Mommy.

yes, after the toilet flushed for the third time this morning I decided to go check on her, and when i opened the door she slammed the toilet lid down. I look, there is half of a toaster strudel in my potty! Why??

Because she was full... for some reason she decided not to throw it in the trash, but just to flush it so I couldn't see. Now I am curious how many other things have gone down the drain unnoticed by yours truely.

Hey dej... you want another story? Let's see, there was 2 days ago when she was in the shower and discovered she could turn the hose on the shower head and it would spin around and around. That was fun.

Then there was the night the ghost came in and peed in her bed while she was sleeping

Kids are fun. She is at a fun age, kind of makes me sad I can't have anymore. I know I am going to miss these days. A friend of mine is having twins and I am crocheting away the last few days and remembering when DD was a baby.
