Default Yeah I mad the leap to AT+T

So, I have coveted the iPhone since the first one came out.

I have been on Verizon for a few years and overall they have good service.

My entire family and most of my friends are on AT+T. With the development of the iPhone 4 and video calling, and many of my friends being out of state, I decided to do it.

I gotta say, even though there have been many bad things said about the new iPhone 4, they did give me a free case and I always have cases on my phone anyway, I understand it's not enough of a con to keep me away.

I already video called my mom who is on an island 2000 miles away. they dont' have cell service on the island but the FaceTime works through wi-fi so it is awesome, because it also does not eat up minutes.

I really love this new phone, and the AT+T plan is cheaper than my old plan.

So, anyone else have the iPhone 4? how do you like the FaceTime?

Thumbs down

bah humbug. Verizon is better. Get the Droid X and keep the good service.

btw, I work at Verizon and I know it's better. People leave AT&T to come to us all the time.

My kids have the IIIG IPhones, DH thru his company has IVG IPhone. They love them. Me? I have one of the kids' old phone. But I borrow/take their phones to play Angry Birds. (99 cent app. Priceless!).
Kids at college, we video Skype. Well, in beginning they did. As days go by, less.

I dont get a signal way out here in the woods. For the last two years we have heard that Verizon got a tower permit and will be putting up a tower in our town, but so far, no tower has appeared. IF it ever does, I "may" get a new cell phone. Till then, I pay $10 a year for a T-Mobile phone that I put minutes on once a year. I only carry it for travel emergencies. There is just no point to turning it on in/near this town.

Default You must be right handed

After having the 3GS for over a year, I've been overall pleased though I'm not crazy about the latest bios update. I figured I too would get the 4G, but then I learned they're made for right handed people according to Steve Jobs. Guess that means I'll have to find some other kind of smart phone when it's time to replace this one in around 10 months. Apple made smart phones really work well, but now that over 33 million people have purchased one, I think we're going to see more manufactures looking at the 3GS and 4G weakness such as no SD and the inability to change out batteries as being proof Apple can be beat at its own game. I couldn't live without mine, but now I think it's more about not being able to live without the Internet that has me hooked. Best of luck with your new better than ever 4G.

Love my Iphone 3gs, can't upgrade to the 4 yet. We bought a mini tower for the house and we get great reception now. Almost visited Wiz before we got the mini tower. lol

If we ever get the I phone we won't be able to keep up with the rush at the store, lol. The contract with AT&T runs out near the end of the year I hear. Our customers keep telling us we're getting the Iphone. So far we haven't heard it, lol.

Disclaimer: DH works for AT&T...I've had the 3G Iphone for a year or so...it's great. I have dropped calls but only my DD's, who lives in the north woods of Wi. Her old Samsung phone always dropped calls, though.
Wiz, I was told that any towers that go up have to be shared by all companies. AT&T is erecting a tower up by the family cabin in NW WI, but all companies will be allowed on it.

We won't be able to buy the new generation Iphone for a few months, since we are part of the AT&T family...we have to wait.
My DH loves the stupid games he downloads...sometimes I think I need to give him a time out off of his phone LOL.

Default Re: the towers

The towers are interesting. My parents live in a gated country club community on a golf course. My dad is on the Home Owners Association. Last year the cell companies came in and petitioned to put a tower on the course as it is a dead area for the miles around them. The companies said the tower would look exactly like a saguaro cactus, and showed a picture and some videos

It totally looked like a cactus and you would never know it was a fake.

SO, the country club would get paid $3,000 by each cell carrier (total of $12,000 per year)

End decision was it was almost passed but the board of the HOA denied it because one of the residents (a really super rich retired dentist) said he would sue if they did it, because he did not want to get cancer from the cell tower) and they voted it down.

They can put a tower on my roof for $12,000 a year. heck, lets make it two towers for an even $24,000.
