I'm almost done packing them. I've had such fun. I don't want to try to take Mom's place but since I am going to be in the middle seat in the mini van and Mom driving I do want them to be happy behind me!!!!! So I have found nice little cloth zippered bags at a consingment store for $1 and packing them with things like sticker books, coloring books, a beany baby for the little one and a disposable camera for the 9 year old. I'm sure by the time Sunday of next week comes around I'll find some more tings to put in there. I am staying away from scizzors and glue!

Have a look at this site. It has inexpensive ideas for entertaining children, and travelling in the car is included.
http://www.ideas-to-save-money.com/e...activities.php How about cards like Go Fish, or Old Maid? The 9 year old might like that. How old is the younger child? Maybe we can help think of other things for you. Maybe you might find more by doing a web search for activities for children in the car.

Are you just going to Disney, or do you have plans for Universal Studios too this trip? If so the Harry Potter park at Universal is great. Theres just a ton of things to see and do anyway, have fun.

Books on tape are a good thing to keep little minds occupied on long trips. Sometimes children (and adults) get sick when reading in the car.....I know I do......and listening to a story can be relaxing and might even put some to sleep!

Goody bag - what a great idea. The kids will love them and Mom will appreciate them.

|We drove 5 hours to Cape Cod with toddlers and then they were 5 and 6. Lots of Juice boxes, stories on tape, rest stops. It's not so bad.

My grandaughters are the most special 3 and 9 year old little /big girls ever!!!!! Their Mom is taking care of DVDs, electronic games, snacks. We take little 2 or 3 hour drive trips with them but they know their kids better. So I just packed some inexpensive bags that will let them know that their Granma still thinks they are the most special grandaughters she has!
