Default Political ad's and calls

OK, I can't wait for tomorrow night, or rather Wednesday morning.

Today (since 8am) I have received 32 calls from candidates either recorded messages or live people asking me for my vote.

32!!!!!! this is insane. The majority of them are democrats.

I decided long ago who I am voting for and will do it when the polls open.

I am curious to see how Prop 19 goes in CA (even though I am in AZ). I expect that if it is approved, our state may follow. For you who might now know what prop 19 is, it's legalizing pot, mary jane, canabas, etc.

It's already legal for medical needs, which is a joke. My friend when over last spring and got a medical marajuana card for "tennis elbow" . Yes, really. No matter what your "ailment" you can get a card. Another friend got a card for a sore knee from an old football injury.

I am in support of the legalizing of it for medical for sure, and in general possibly. After all, legalizing a "drug" that makes teenagers drive slower? why not. LOL.

So, why not make this one of my polls. What do you think?

One of my friends (a pot smoker) says that the only reason they haven't legalized it nationwide is they can't regulate it easily like they can/do with cigarettes. Imagine the money they can make in taxes, and get the gutter dealers off the streets. He's got a point.

Why can't they regulate it?

I was watching last Friday's Bill Maher show...they discussed how the prop will probably be defeated, first of all because people don't understand how cannabis works on the body and think the users will be a bunch of crazy psychos running around, and also because those growers who sell it illegally now are opposed because they'll be out of business or making greatly reduced monies...rumor has it that the growers are pouring money into the oppositions' coffers.
It is the largest crop in Hawaii...people get their hands on it illegally. Why not make it legal and tax the he77 out of it?

I've evaluated and researched on this subject since the 70's and the same ignorant, heads in the sand, attitudes prevail to this day.

I find it highly ironic the most controlled substance has proven medically to be the most dangerous drug to the individual and society, alcohol. Go figure!

Legalizing MJ would release millions of dollars now allocated simply from law enforcement, including the clogging of the courts and jails with less than major dealers. In addition, controlled distribution on a taxed basis would be a phenomenal boom to the economy providing jobs from cultivation, packaging, tracking, marketing, and sales to the end user.

Should I have a choice, I would rather have my dentist work on me after smoking a joint than having a few shots of alcohol. Yes, I know MJ is a mood altering drug but not to the extent of alcohol.

Too many people are still hung up on just the idea of legalization without mention of what it may be. They see the legalization of something previously prohibited as further destruction of our society. Well folks, should we continue on our present course society will do very well in its own destruction.

I don't mind sharing I speak from the experience of degrees in criminal justice and police administration, years of active service in law enforcement. So I've seen many sides of MJ within our society.

It concerns me that there's no problem with getting an rx for narcotics, but so many bust a vein if they think you're smoking pot for pain.
There was a study done showing alcolhol to be more dangerous the pot...or LSD...Or heroin...

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/11/s...eroin-cocaine/

I'm sure they'll have no problem taxing it (since when has government not figured out a way to tax stuff?). Regulating it is not impossible either. There are many larger problems to worry about. My two cents. It's still worth two cents, isn't it?

If ETOH or alcohol is legal, (the most dangerous drug in america) then why not pot?! as a prison nurse I saw hundreds and hundreds of folks who were in for ONE joint! ONE! Think of the tax dollars saved on housing, caring for and putting such folks thru the legal system! Think of NOT exposing such folks to hard core robbers, rapists and murderers! Lets not prevent them from getting a job because now they have a record.

For medical use, Bravo! but for those that want to sit home and have a beer on the weekend, its legal! why not a joint? I say legalize it and tax the crap out of it. Put the dealers out of busines. Lets take it from the back alleys to the main street shops! At least it would be regulated and it would have to meet some standard of consistancy and safety. God knows what they are peppering in that stuff when you buy it from scruffy in the back alley.

I voted yes, for medical use. If it helps, why not allow those who need it? It will bring in tax dollars and give those who need it another option for therapy or pain relief. If you're at my house though, you'll have to sit on the front porch with the other smokers though, lol.

I voted yes to full legalization even though I am an advocate for medical use. I see it like this. If you can drink then you should be able to smoke. Much rather have a person who smokes around me than a drunk who grew beer muscles. Not to mention no one has ever died from cannabis use but sure has at the hands of the drunk or themselves died from alcohol.

I want to add from my experience voters are getting angry. Medical cannabis supporters are angry that government cannot see the benefits of cannabis for the sick over pharmaceutical drugs. Not to mention how they have it scheduled in the same category as heroin. They are angry and turning to full legalization just to get their meds.

How many of you know that we still have a medical cannabis program going that is run by the government? There are three surviving patients who get 100+ joints a month legally. How is it the government can have this program, yet deny others the same benefits and continue to keep cannabis at a scheduled 1 substance with no medical benefits? Obviously there is a contradiction here. So, yes, people are angry and have every right to be.

Would love to know how cannabis is dangerous? We have never found any evidence of cannabis overdose or accident related to cannabis.

Thank you!!!!! Arizona is on our list of possible places to move if Illinois lawmakers don't make it happen here.
