Default AZ MS walk is TOMORROW!

I am WAY late in getting this on here, but the MS walk is tomorrow (Nov 6th). Any of my NT buddies going to be there? I am. I have a team of about 25 and have raised about $1,300.

Hope to see you there.

Pic's to follow.

well, that was not fun at all.

It was great to see all the people out there, we did get a primo parking space by getting the wrong directions and ending up in the vendor's parking lot right behind the booth area.

It was a beautiful sunrise. Difficult to get up so early but still, no complaints there.

The place was crowded. A good deal of money must have been raised.

but...all along the walk, every few minutes, were high school kids dressed in togas SCREAMING, "hooray! go on! you can make it! yay!" It was to the point of obnoxious. Why dressed in togas? Why cheering as if we were in a race?

Here we are on a beautiful morning walk and all the animals are staying FAR AWAY for the racket. My ears HURT from the senseless screaming. It literally made my shoulders rise up to my ears in reaction to the level of output of yelling. Put me in a bad mood all the way and I am a pretty even steven personality.

Ugh. not sure I will do that again.

how awful that such a pretty walk was ruined by loud mouths! was there an event co ordinator that can be complained to? Loud noises disoriente me and would have caused me great stress.

I was too cranky to really deal with my complaint during the event.. I have had time to give it thought and upon consideration, I believe it would be best to let it go and see it from a positive perspective.

Younger kids in various groups may have liked the noise. Serenity is not a strong suit of children. Running, leaping, crawling on rocks are more the characteristics of youth. Screaming is a favorite of teenagers. They will not remember making me crazy. They will remember having a good time at an MS function and being helpful.

It may become a life long passion to volunteer for various fundraising causes.

And complaining to the MS coordinators...they work so hard to get things going. Better that my negative thoughts were vented here and you, Dej, were kind enough to recognize my vent and respond saying just what I wanted to hear.

Default Fun little surprise

Yeah, the walk was very crowded this year, which I love. Being the team captain for a rather large team I got there at 5:30 to get all my zoo passes and turn in money. Then when my team gets there, unless they need to register, they can come to me to get their wrist bands to get in the zoo (like they ever check, lol).

Some of my first time walkers got a kick out of the guy's dressed up as Storm Troopers from Star Wars, the guys who dressed like Ghostbusters, (complete with 1972 ambulance) and the group dressed as renassance regalia.

It was the most crowded than I have seen in my many years of doing the walk. hopefully that translated to the most money.

Last Wednesday, they had a blitz online to the team who raised the most money won a prize. My team tied with another and we each won a family membership to the zoo for a year. That's cool! I can hardly afford to go and this will get me in more often.

Here's a pic of Laura and I (I am the ugly one sitting) I will post more pic's when my friends send me them, all I had with me was my iPhone.

Earl

oh, and the toga gang didn't bother me at all, in fact they cheered up the little girls on my team.

@Earl. what you are saying is exactly my point.

It was not a good experience for me but it was a good experience...if that makes any sense...

What a cute couple.. So glad it was a success.
