So sorry to hear you're also dealing with this, Craig.
I have difficulty sleeping through the night. I lie awake for 2-4 hours some nights. It does no good for me to get up. Occasionally I'll take benadryl before bed and it will help for several hours. I also use a CPAP...I don't have any problems with it interfering with my sleep. And ambien/valium never helped me, either. I do know that when I turn on the Weather Channel, I fall asleep within minutes:rolleyes: maybe that will help you, too. |
LOL Debbie...I usually turn on NatGeo..:D

I used to put the QVC channel on but had to stop. Why do things seem more appealing at 2:30 AM??? Also, some of their hosts are just a tad too hyper for me. I just want to yell "where is your 'off' switch?". I tried turning off the TV last night when I woke up. It seemed strange laying there in the darkness with no background noise (even tho I keep it very low). I eventually fell asleep. |
I have to have total silence and pitch black darkness plus very cool to cold to go to sleep.
I just invested in a pair of wireless radio frequency headphones so I can watch the big TV in the living room and have the volume where I like it especially with gun fire and things blowing up. Yet, my wife hears nothing. It's amazing what details in the sound I pickup with the headphones too. I thought water was coming into the living room from waves but it was background on the TV. When I'm up, I'm up. So I've gotten into watching the Christmas movies on On Demand Hallmark and Lifetime. Maybe I will try CSPAN and see if that makes me sleepy. |

I tend to be a little "****"ytical when it comes to finding the highest quality product at the best possible price. What else do I have to do at 3AM in the morning.
Here is the unit I purchased through Amazon.com and I have the Prime program so there is no shipping and 2 day delivery. Also a great bargain at $79 a year. amazon.com/gp/product/B0001FTVEA/ref=oss_product Sennheiser RS110 Over-Ear RS110 926 Mhz Wireless Rf Headphones Priced at $44.88 I hope I can show this link for you and not get in trouble. |
On the recommendation of mrsD on this forum and some internet research, I went out yesterday and purchased Melatonin. I obtained the 100% pure Melatonin time release 5mg tablets. Yesterday I attempted to stay up until a normal bedtime of 10PM. That didn't work and I literally crashed at 4:20PM sleeping until 8PM. I took the Melatonin at 9:30PM and went to bed at 10 and slept well until 3:50AM. For me, that's pretty good.
I may need a short nap this early afternoon, but I expect the length of sleep time and quality to improve even more tonight. I like the fact I have no grogginess as I found when testing Ambien and Lunesta. At this point I'm very optimistic but still cautious. We'll see as time goes on. If this works to "reset" my sleep pattern, it will be well worth the whopping $9.00 investment. I'll keep you all informed. |
