Default Kindle or Nook?

Ok, so my 19 y/o nephew wants either a Kindle or Nook for Christmas.

I saw the new Nook is in color, and I think does more than a Kindle, but a Kindle is much cheaper.

Who has either a Kindle or a Nook, Pro's, Con's, what should we do?

It will be his present from the rest of the family, his only gift. (it costs enough) LOL.

Thanks.

without a doubt, I love my Kindle so the nook was not as good. Bias.

Another biased view - I love my Kindle, but all I want is a simple read. No bells and whistles for me (Like I could work them anyway.)

Kindle is the best, but then I'm seriously biased for the Kindle. I've had one of each generation.

I do suggest that if you get a Kindle, get a case for it to protect it, but DONT get a case that uses the hinge/hook system to secure the Kindle inside the case. There's been a few problems with the hinges causing some Kindles to reboot (constantly). Get a cover that the Kindle either slides into that it wont slide out of...or something that uses a combination of velcro and rubber band strap thingies.

The covers that were causing a problem were the basic Amazon covers that Amazon was offering. I'd gotten one of those back when I got my Kindle 3 when they were first released this summer, and it caused my Kindle to constantly reboot. I ended up ordering a cover from a company called JAVOedge that my Kindle slides into. No problems with that one.

Plus, the Amazon covers are kind of expensive, and you can other brands of covers for less money.

Santa Claus ordered me a new cover for Xmas. It's sitting in the mailer it came in upstairs and every time I go to look at the mailer, I get my hand smacked by one of my parents. (I'm just looking! wasnt gonna open it!)

I just ordered my dad a new cover for his Kindle 2. It's probably not going to get here before Xmas because I was too cheap to pay the $25 for rush shipping for it. (his cover was on sale for $20. I figured he could wait the extra day or two)

I love accessorizing my Kindles.
