Default EMS, Law enforcement, firefighters

We've got the scanner on (mostly to listen to the highway dept. guys) and there have been four different town rescue crews toned out in the last hour. It's snowing heavily and the roads are awful.

Just another reminder of my gratitude to those who respond with no hesitation in all kinds of weather, putting their lives on the line for the rest of us. Many are volunteers; probably MOST in our area, and those who are not are underpaid.

God bless them all.

Yes, it's a thankless job and most people don't stop to recognize them unless they are complaining about something.

It takes a special kind of person to do that sort of work. I know I couldn't do it.

Thanks for remembering them, B2Y.

Yes, thanks....sending a prayer up for them, while I'm at it.

My cousin is a volly (volunteer firefighter/paramedic) in a small town just outside of Omaha. I always worry whenever I hear about volunteers being called out in his hometown.

I dont talk to him (long boring story. His wife seems to be nuts) but I still worry about him.
