We go over to good friends' house, where several couples come together. We eat, play a couple of games, and try to make it to midnight... No heavy drinking or anything like that...just a few middle agers getting together to say goodbye to another year...

I'm hopefully going to my boyfriends house to visit his parents and having a buffet in the afternoon!

Towards the evening, we are coming back to my house to stay with my parents and have a little party. We'll probably go on the nintendo wii and listen to music while the adults will have alcohol :D!

I hope you all have a great New Year and I wish you all the very best for 2011!:)

I remember, pre-diagnosis, going to my neighbor's annual party. I fell asleep, it was 2000 and many felt our computerized world would fall apart at the century number change. I remember sleepily hoping it would so everyone would leave me alone. I guess I never was much of a party animal.

No partying this year. We get to pay for a new clutch and head gasket in my car . . . and my partner awoke today with another migraine. Supposed to go to my daughter's in Portland tomorrow . . . to do a late Christmas and to see the grandson. We'll see. 2010 is not ending on such a good note. . . . and a little apprehensive about 2011 right now.

With my kids grown and gone, my wife and I have a very unique buffet early in the evening. Consisting of the following:
  • Lobster tails
  • Home made chili con queso, extra hot
  • Cheese Fondue with fresh French bread
  • Special crab meat dip, very rich
  • Shrimp cocktail
  • Home made cream de mint balls dipped in chocolate
  • Diet Coke or ice cold water
  • Coffee ice cream

Then, let's just say we welcome the new year in a special way under the lit Christmas tree.

When the kids were young we had a tradition on New Year's Eve they could choose any food or beverage they wanted and, staying up until midnight, could have as much of it as they want with no limitations. Beware though, the teenage years can bankrupt you on this deal.

Happy New Year Craig and Mrs Craig - you little rascals!

I am headed to a friends for a party - old fart style. We nibble on some chips, pizza and fiddle faddle, swill coffee by the gallon and play Mexican Train until our eyes cross (hurry, someone wake up Jane! The ball is about to drop!)

My munchkin says it a party for old farts and we are all very boring. Ha, little does she know, eh?
