Default Winter Wonderland

We got snow on Christmas Day!!! Our little town got a whopping 3" and it's still coming down. Not supposed to get above freezing today so things will be interesting on the roads.

Whenever DS gets up I'll ask him to take a picture with his phone so I can post it here. There's something wrong with my digital camera because it won't upload pictures to the computer anymore.

These are the days when I'm so thankful I don't work anymore and I can stay warm and toasty inside. BTW.....people in the South cannot drive in ice!

When my brother first moved to NC, he stayed off the roads when there was even the least little bit of snow "out of self defense".

I was raised in NC and they do not have the equipment to deal with major snow fall. They do the safe thing and close the roads, shut down the schools and send home half the city.

Here in NH its a little tougher than that. We are getting peppered with snow now, and are expecting 12 to 16 inches before tomorrow morning. We are setting up the generator, snow plow, snow thrower, and have turned the cars to face out or the drive.

All the winter boots are now tucked by the back door with a box of mittens, hats, scarves and dry socks. The house is loaded with food and we are ready to be buried in it. Bring it on!

Thanks, Sally. It was taken with the digital camera. Apparently it was "operator error" when the pictures wouldn't upload for me!

Great pic! Mind if I borrow it to use for a snow study with my new pastels? We got our snow for Thanksgiving this year . . . just rain and wind for Christmas this year!

My brother who lives in Georgia got 3 inches. Their 14 year old boy wouldn't even come in and open presents! His present was outside

its been snowing all night. Sometimes it was coming down sideways. They say this storm is the equivilant of a cat one hurricane storm as far as pressure systems. I just looked outside and saw its coming down sideways still. No sense is shoveling just yet as its still quite strong and blustery outside.

The news service is calling it blizzard conditions and many are without power around here. We have the generator all set up, and are ready should we be hit. I have tons of easy food to reheat and we can easily survive here for days.

its pretty, but tons of work.
