Default off to see the tax man

I am off to another state to see my accountant. Since my professional life was in another state I kept my guy in that state. He is amazing and finds pennies where I didnt know pennies could exist.

I get to see DHs side of the family, AND I get to stop at Kohls! We have nothing for shopping in this silly part of the state, so I suffer for shopping. its going to be icy later, and DHs truck is in the shop, so we are using my car today. its a nice car, so she will be shocked to get used.

DS promised to show up, even tho his g/f has declared that she has better things to do. I have his b/d and Christmas gifts becasue she refused to let him come visit me. Last time she kicked him out she burned all of his clothes and belongings in a bonfire with her new b/f. I hope she took me seriously when I told her I would take her to small claims court to replace those items if she does it again. (empty threat) DD is going to show up too, so maybe I can actually get to see my kids together today.

I hope you get to see your kids today, Dej! Just mention money (the magic word) and they'll find a way to get there!

Good luck today. I hope you get to see your babies. Tell DS Sam said there are less crazy fish in the giant sea of life. And the fact that he was raised by you tells me he is smart, and caring and can do better.

Don't forget to pat your car on the rear after you use her. it will make her feel better. My car is a boy. His name is Hulk. He's a good boy. He takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. I <3 him.

When having your taxes done by someone else, beware when they say, "We will take care of everything for you," "Don't worry about the money," "Trust me," "It is better to give than to receive." I've used advance TurboTax for eight years now with excellent results and refunds direct deposited within 7 days of filing. Just my experiences.

well DS was a no show, even with the lure of money. DD called on my cell to say it was very icy out and she didnt want to risk going into the city to see me on an icy day. So, no kids.

The tax man is awesome. TY for all the private messages about free services, but I am half of a team, and being from law enforcement and rescue services, and having had my mom as a dependant all these years, as well as the death of DHs father and so forth, the DH wishes to keep this man on staff. We have many investments and expenses that are tricky if not claimed properly. This guy does a great job, and does the majority of the police force for several surrounding towns, the state police force, the mayor, and most of the dept of correction higher ups. it was a wait list to become one of his clients years ago, and since following his guidance and advice we have done well. He is worth his weight in gold. If it was just me on the simple side, I could do a free software return and be fine.

Btw, I removed my mom as a dependant. I warned her last year that she would have to get another, and so this was her last on my tax statement.

its icy icy icy out there! it was a skating rink on the way home. Many folks were following way too closely to the guy in front of them, and many were off the side of the road without the ability to get back up. it was kinda scary.

im home, im safe, im warm and glad to see my fur babies.

OK! I am totally convinced you are being well taken care of. I know these types of people who provide their services to the police and rescue community and they are indeed "worth their weight in gold."

Thank you, one less thing I need to worry about for you.

Dej, my oldest son takes his taxes to a man who does them for law enforcement only. He gets him all the perks he can. Plus, he's really not that expensive when you consider all he has to keep up with. He's been going to him now for several years and always gets a nice chunk of change back.

we used a reccomended man for years and each year we owed between 1k and 2k and it was frustrating! We saw all these co workers at tax time talk about how much they got back, and how much they saved, and it was maddening. We invested properly, and we had what we thought was a good financial advisor.

After the 3rd year of owing money, I was upset and asked the warden who he used for taxes, as I was looking to do a "look back" on the last 3 years. He told me about Gerry. Warned me he was impossible to get to see, and I would have to wait. I spoke to the captain, and the comissioner who told me the same name and same story. Every now and again someone told me about another name, but we constantly heard the same name. We knew we had to get on his list. I called and placed us on the 2 year wait list for an interview to be a client. interview?! the secretary assured me that if our books were in order, and we were above board and willing to do as we were instructed it wasnt a problem, but if we were looking to scam, cheat or steal please dont bother.

After a round of golden handshakes we finally got our appointment. That year we owed 2.2 THOUSAND dollars! how was this possible?! Since you can only go back 3 years, we took all 3 with us. This guy was amazing! He showed us that since there was a hygiene policy at work that demands my husband be clean shaven, razor blades and shave cream are deductible. bullets for practice at the range are deductible. We had been walking away from the table year after year leaving massive amounts of money behind. We walked in owing 2.2 thousand and walked out with a refund for 4 thousand. He re filed the past 3 years behind that one, and we walked out with more money than we could imagine, and we were instructed on how to invest it legally, above board and to its best advantage. That was the year that my money started working FOR me and not against me.

So, I will be going back to this man who pulled me out a puddle of confusion and misunderstandings about the law, investments, and taxes and brought me into security. Once we retired he dropped his fee in half, and keeps us on his schedule. We see him, and him only, but he now has 12 full timers on his staff simply for the law enforcement community.

He also tells some of the nastiest jokes I have ever heard! OMG! he is rotten to the core.

He is a teacher, and a good friend now. I dont think I could convince the old man to not go. btw IF you are ever audited he personally handles all corrospondance and will appear in person with you at any hearing. of the last 30 years that he has been in business only one case ever went to trial and it turned out that the client was lying and hiding money, and his wife who was divorcing him turned him in. It was not Gerry's fault that this man was dishonest. so once in 30 years that one went to trial is awesome!
