Please continue searching for an organization that will help you with TNR. It is ideal if the females especially can remain confined for one night after the spay but not absolutely mandatory.

I also feed feral cats but the thing with feeding them is that we are essentially keeping them healthy enough to reproduce hence my personal feeling that I have the obligation to try and decrease that as much as possible.

Here they will do spay/vaccines on feral cats through the local SPCA based on your income. It is really cheap and I would bet they might even be flexible if you are not in a position to contribute very much. In almost all areas there are resources available. Please ask your veterinarian for suggestions also.

I feel the same. I'm going to make some phone calls in the morning. There has GOT to be some kind of help out there.

We got Alley Cat Allies to come trap, neuter and return the feral cats. There are a lot of other non-prof groups in your area that might help as well. Google Allies Cat Allies and your city and several options come up.

I just read this thread Kelly . I would feel exactly like you do, that's why I have 5 cats right now . I hope you've had some luck finding some help with this.

My neighbor feeds about 10 or so feral cats (I think she must have them spayed or neutered because I have never seen any kittens). They run through my backyard all of the time. Thank goodness she feeds them or I would be broke feeding all of those poor cats.

Well, I have called everyone but Ghostbusters and there is no help here in this county!! Unbelievable! I think it wouldn't be as hard as it seems if I had transportation available to me all the time. And if I could drive all the time!

I'm going to keep trying to find a solution to this predicament but I'll keep feeding my 3 little "barn kitties" until I do. Believe me, if I could afford the vet bill for all three to have them spayed/neutered and brought up to date on all their shots and to make sure they're healthy I'd probably have them inside by now.
