Default I've been ormanized!

I have seen the Suze Orman financial kit on infomercials for a long time now, and keep saying "we should get that" My will was a mess, and I didnt think I needed a revocable trust, do i? Spoke to an attorney and they wanted a fortune to do these simple documents and told me I dont need a trust.

I ordered the kit! I just finished my documents and wow, I feel so much better that its all fixed and done.

Anyone else ever use her kit? it was a real bargain next to the professional charges that would have come from this and I can get the bank to notorize it for free! Wahoo! im all caught up on paperwork.

I saw some of her stuff on QVC a little while ago. It looked like a good idea. I've watched her show a couple of times.....the one where people ask if they can afford certain things and she looks at their financial picture and tells them if they can or not. I've often thought about calling.....she'd fall off her chair if she could see how little I survive on!! And how little I have to fall back on!

I was impressed with how easy, quick and efficient this stuff was. CLear explainations and instructions. Turns out I DO need a trust!

My lawyer wanted about $300 for the same package for just me, then another $300 to take care of DH. With this one $60 kit I am able to take care of both of us, and my children! Whoo!

It did open some discussions here that upset the hubby, like...who takes the cats if we go together? I guess we always assume that one of us will go at one time, but if we are always in the same car, or on the same plane...DS isnt mature enough, or smart enough to take care of things. DD wont want to. Its really hard to put on paper what you want to do with your possessions should neither of you be here. Really made me think.

im ormanized! Whooo Hooo!

Good idea! I haven't done that but read her books from years ago before she was a big TV star and love most of her advice.

Except the rare times when she doesn't advise people to pay down their mortgages asap because imvho there are rarely situations where this isn't the best way to go.

I never miss her show. her kit is excellent. We did our papers long ago bit if we need to redo them, it is for sure the way to go. Her "Can I afford it" segments are THE BEST!

it must be contagious! I spoke to SIL who is our 2nd in line if we go together, or are incapitated together, and she was impressed so she ordered the kit, which led to other SIL getting it, and then MIL and my neighbor and then 2 other couples in town.

I am happy that so many folks are taking care of their business. It would be awful for my child to inheiret this house only to have to pay fees, and fines, and probates to get what is legally his. With the revocable trust its just his.

Dont stand too close, you too may jump on QVC to get the special price they are running on this kit.

I did what I wish my Mother had done and that's, put DD on survivorship deed, last year. All bank accounts have beneficiaries to DD and DSSons.

I've made my will, living will, got my POA lined up. I even have a spot in the same crypt DH is buried in (bought a double depth when he passed away). As far as I know I've taken care of most everything I need to. Not much money right now to be concerned with but I do have life insurance policies that will produce quite a bit of money when I die. DS's are the only beneficiaries on those. I have everything in a binder and DS's know where the binder is located. I even made a copy of the contents of the binder and gave to oldest DS and he put it in his fireproof safe. Now......I just have to sit back and wait.......

Went to Town Hall and got all the papers signed and witnessed. Dropped off a copy of the medical stuff at the local MD, and have put the newly signed stuff in the safe.

Im so happy to have this all done, and out of the way. There is only one issue left and that is God forbid, if we both went, who would take the kitties? I managed to speak to the DS and DD to tell them that neither of them will be in charge if we both go at the same time. My 2nd in line has instructions to liquidate it all, and dole out cash.

Whew! that was hard work, but its done!
