Hubby lost his recently. Probably in a snow bank. Got him a new one on ebay pretty cheap compared to what the phone provider wanted. Got one brand new so I was confident there were no issues with it.
They say the most common water issue with a cell phone is people dropping it in the toilot!!

pull out the battery, then drop it into a bag of rice (uncooked) this will help wick away the moisture. Allow it to sit for at least 24 to 48 hours before trying to turn it on. I hope it works for you.
I did that once, and it was ruined.

I'd do the rice thing, but I would leave it a lot longer that 48hrs. I'd give it 5 or 6 days.
But, maybe you're ready for an upgrade in phones? If it were me, I'd be out getting an iPhone or an Android. Maybe I'll go try to wash clothes now?

You haven't answered the all important question. Did your clothes come out cleaner and most importantly, "STATIC FREE????"

My techno-guru of a husband took the phone all apart to dry out and it's lying, in pieces, on the DR table. Will see, today, if it still works. At first, after I did it, he thought it probably wouldn't work, because there was a water line instide the little monitor (looked like a little aquarium!), so he knew the water had gotten inside.
But, after opening it up, he thinks there's a chance, because he says the water didn't appear to get into any of the important parts and, the water line was going down. Erin -- I really don't have any need to upgrade. I don't use my cell phone a lot. Have a pre-paid plan, and I don't even use the minimum $5/month that we have to pay. DH has a Droid, and, we use that for most of our long distance; have even discontinued the LD plan on our land line to save the $7/month. (If he's not home and I need LD, I use a calling card. They're cheap. We also use calling cards for our calls to my family in Canada, so we don't get the high cell phone charges on them.) If it's kaput, it's not such a big deal. I think that DH has some used ones lying around here. He's always got used cell phones, used computers, often used laptops, used everything. (Famous quote -- "We might need it someday." -- lol) Sigh -- we have a 1300 sq. ft. garage (bigger than our house), but, no room to park a vehicle! ~ Faith P.S.: Craig -- No static?! lol

Something to remember with any electronic device is when they get wet DO NOT TURN THEM ON UNTIL THEY ARE DRY!
I left a window open once and we had a massive thunderstorm with a mini tornado. Our satellite receiver got soaked. Fortunately the power was off when it happened. (We weren't home to close the window!) I unhooked it from the surge protector before the power came back on and turned it upside down and dried it for days with a fan pointed at it. It dried out and when turned on, worked fine. My niece dropped her brand new IPhone in the lake this summer. Fortunately her phone was off when it happened. We dried it out and it worked just fine. For those premium phones, there's some sort of indicator in them that shows that it got wet and voids the warranty unless you have insurance. She had insurance, but the phone worked fine and still does.
