Ok, so I just started downloading a book showcased on The Today Show called "Heaven is for Real". It's by a boy who was in ICU with a burst appendix when he was 4 years old and went to heaven, sat on Jesus lap and knew things he didn't know before when he came back. Like his mother had a miscarriage before he was born, he met his sister. he met his great grandpa in heaven and he knew where his father went to pray when he was in surgery.

I read the blurbs on today.com and had to get the book....for my own reasons.

I know Heaven is for real, but I am still curious.

In as much pain as I am today, and everyday, I just want to get there. I read a book a few years ago called "90 minutes in Heaven" about a guy who died and was in Heaven for 90 min before coming back.

This is just a special subject for me.

Now to the other part of the topic. Dreams.

I have had MS for 17 year on April 14th. Until last month in all my dreams, I had a normal body, could run, jump, walk....until last month.

I realized yesterday that the dream I had the night before I was in my chair.

This is VERY upsetting to me. It's almost like it's another smack-down that this disease is SO much worse than it's ever been.

Anyway, do you believe in Heaven, and in your dreams are you able-bodied or disabled?

I believe in Heaven, Earl. I read the book "90 Minutes in Heaven" too. It was interesting. I'll have to check out the today show site and read a blurb from the book you are talking about.

In my dreams, I go back and forth. Most the time, I am able bodied. However, in this last flare, I had dreams where I couldn't get my legs to move and do what they are supposed to do. Of course, then I wake up and my legs are stiff and I have to work to get them to do what I need them to do. And, I agree with you - it is upsetting when we see ourselves in our dreams as not being able bodied.

I also believe in Heaven.

In my dreams, I have MS but am always walking and by the end of the dream, I'm exhausted.

Thanks Earl for starting this. My belief in heaven is what keeps me going every single moment of my life. As soon as my 4 year old grand daughter was told her Grandma Pete was sick her immediate reaction was of joy and excitement that Grandma was going to read books with Jesus now.

I had not heard of the book, I'll have to look into it. My daughters childrens pastor teached that the reason children have such an open mind about heaven Jesus, God, etc is that they have recently come from heaven and it is fresh on their mind. I haven't had time to let that mull through my brain and understand that but if that helps her then so be it.

as far as dreams, I don't dream about my MS body. Most of my dreams are of my working as an RN, wierd things, my grand kids etc. I have really strange dreams.

I believe in Heaven and I for one, can't wait to get there! I read "90 minutes in Heaven" I think it is written by Don Piper. I also read "Heaven, Close encounters of the God kind" by Jesse Duplantis..Bro. Jesse is a pastor at a church not far from me..a gr8 book about his experience. In my personal opinion, I think we all have a gaurdian angel watching over us also. This is comforting for me. Several times throughout my life I believe God sent my angel to keep me from dangerous situations.

They had something similar on TV here recently, but for the life of me I can't remember what show it was on. I wish I had payed more attention, but it was dinner time and the TV was on in the background.

It could quite possibly have been Today Tonight, and I don't remember it being about this person, but it might have been. The person they were interviewing states they had scientific proof that Heaven exists. If I can find the story I'll post a link.

Oh, to have the innocence of a child again. Wouldn't that be wonderful.

That would be wonderful Kitty!! My little niece was sick a couple weeks ago with the flu. I called the next day to ask how she was feeling..she said "NaNa, I feel better and I knew that you prayed for me." Comforting to know that even children believe in the power of prayer.

I think we all still have that childlike innocence. As adults, we complicate things. Remember what it was like when you were a kid and were discovering something. The joy and intensity of learning was part your innocence. Or remember looking at something and just being in awe of it, like a bird you have never seen before. Or watching ants crawling around and each one has a job and they're so busy. I watch them and am in awe of them. I can't help but be amazed.

It's these kinds of things that we forget about. The constant wonderment of life, love, trust, and just being. We are all children in God's eyes and I do not believe he intended for us to make things so complex. Complexity adds to many negative emotions and behaviors. Just my opinion.

These types of experiences have happened to so many people (kids and adults). When you hear about them or read about them you can't help but not believe. But, for me, I'm not so sure I would readily share it. It's like it is a special gift from God. Do you share it with everyone or hold it in to yourself and maybe those close to you? And, do you share it and make a profit of any sort on it? To me, it seems that if you are going to share it, it should be free. I thought of all of this yesterday after I read the blurb from the book. Even though the boy and his family are not making money off it, they are charging for the book and donating the money. I don't know if this is right. What do you all think?
