Default If i had the energy I would shave my dog.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tired of sweeping up dog hair. Even in te winter. The Black lab will not stop shedding. She should be bald by now but no. It's warm outside. I seriously thought about shaving all of her fur off.

Get a "Furminator." It's impressive what it will take off, and there will be less mess in between "Furminatings."

I hear ya.
We have a pointer that sheds mostly white hairs about 1 1/2" long
a golden tabby cat the sheds his golden hair
and a black lab/border collie mix that has started to shed his 3" long black hair.

ughh forever sweeping & vacuuming - can't wait till the weather improves a bit more then the lab will be outside more often - until dh or son come home from work and just let him wander in with them....

Will be getting me a furminator this week. See if it helps. It's weird when she was under a yr old she barely shed. Then we moved and ever since she has been a constant pile of fur to be picked up. We moved a second time and we are in the same neighborhood as the firt house, but she is still shedding like crazy and we've been here two years.

We thought our labx wasn't going to be a shredder as he didn't as a pup either.

have you taught the kid how to brush the animals? it was the job of my children to comb/brush the animals, and it dramatically cut down on the amount of hair flying. I am impressed with how much hair our little dog could shed.

Yup brushing is one of her chores. Problem is she isn't big enough to give them baths yet and I somehow get stuck with that job every time. And the brushing and hair clipping and nail clipping and earcleaning duties that come along with it. Which I dont really mind too much except for the day of pain afterwards. The local puppy parlors up here are so EXPENSIVE!! Just to do my usual routine with the lab they wanted $75. Which I normally do once a month, and that didn't even include the boxer.
