Grin How many items are in your bathroom?

BATHROOMS

A. A man has six items in his bathroom: toothbrush and
toothpaste, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel.

B. The average number of items in the typical woman's
bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify more than 20 of
these items.

My Mom sent me this as part of an e-mail. The whole thing shocked me. I mean, seriously, I know I don't have 337 items in my bathroom. Heck, I don't even have enough room to store 337 items. I have 50 items in my bathroom.

I saw a tv show that talked about the average pair of shoes a woman has - 19. I thought for sure 19 was a bit much so I guessed a lower number. DBF freaked when he heard this. So, he asked how many I had. I didn't think I had 19, but hey, I'm a shoe person so it's was possible. I got up, went to my closet, and counted. I have 29 pairs of shoes in my closet. Most of them are flip flops and 4 pairs of slippers. (Hey, MS made me real picky about how my shoes "feel" on my feet and it's different every day).

So, just for fun, how many items do you have in your bathroom? And, how many pairs of shoes do you have?

I counted 26 pair of shoes.....but in my defense I only wear 4 pair of them! Most of them are shoes I had when I was working. Guess I thought that someday I might wear them again. I really should donate them. I'm sure somebody could get some use out of them.

I have a pair of Keds, a pair of Clark's slip on sandals and two pair of Sketcher's Mary Jane type shoes. Those are the only ones I can comfortably wear anymore. No more heels or strappy sandals.

On my bathroom counter I have a basket that holds my perfume, my facial moisturizer and my eye makeup remover pads (which I hardly ever use anymore because I don't wear makeup very often anymore). My toothbrush holder, toothpaste, and mouthwash are by one of the sinks. That's it! Now, the drawer is another story! I really need to clean it out because most of the stuff in there I don't use.

Now that I'm thinking about my shoe collection I'm going to do something about it. It's a sin to hold onto so many good pair of shoes that someone who needs them could be using. Thanks for reminding me.

I will admit, my shoe collection used to be a lil insane. I just cleared the closet out though and got rid of all my cute heels I had 12, 9 of which were stilettos (and I USED to be able to run in them! my balance was awesome pre-ms lol) so now I have 4 pairs of flip flops, 2 sandals, 3 sets of tennis shoes.

Bathroom. Well.. lol I have an electric toothbrush with it's charging stand, toothpaste, some deodorant, a bottle of alcohol, a bag of 500 cotton balls, a lil make up bag that has maybe 7 items in it, qtips, 5 bottles of body spray, a brush a comb, and I am going to stop there because I didn't realize I had so much already

And the boyfriend has a toothbrush and deodorant.... and this is his house.

woops.

I went back to re-read the initial post to see if you said "in the bathroom" or "on the vanity". Okay, so "in the bathroom". I don't know how to calculate ours, because we have a linen closet with ALL of our bandaids, cotton balls, towels, washcloths, corn pads, extra shampoo, sunscreen, first aid spray, kleenex, etc.

There are probably approximately a gazillion items, but most of them are "ours" not "his and hers". My "make-up" is a mascara, and I have a brush, a comb, and a hair dryer.

Now shoes, on the other hand. I'll have to go count, because there are few pair that I rarely wear, and a few pair that I never wear but who knows, someday I might again. As a couple of people mentioned, my feet are different day to day, season to season, and from each other.

The official count is: 30 pair of shoes, 6 pair of boots. I've given my granddaughter a few pair of shoes that I bought and wore about twice before deciding I couldn't do it. She was a bit hesitant the first time I offered her shoes, but when she showed up and found a nearly new pair of Hi-Tec hiking boots and two pair of Merrell slides/sandals, she since comes with a smile on her face and a hopeful heart.

I have a vase with a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste and a bottle of soap on the sink.

I have a papertowel stand that I use to hold toilet paper. (holds 3 rolls) and then in the drawer under the sink I have...girl things...

In the cabinet, I have a plastic tote that I keep clean underwear in, and about 3 or 4 paperback books. (yes, I'm one of those that reads in the bathroom)

The shower has a bottle of shampoo, a bottle of soap and a razor. There's also a shower stool in there for when the MS makes me weak, woozy, or just MSish.

My bedroom closet is full of yarn, or fabric. (I have more craft stuff than clothing in there) I thinned out the herd of clothing last year, so I just have some clothing that's sentimental along with things that I do wear. (4 pairs of jeans, and about 15 t-shirts. I might have one dress...that no longer fits)

I have five pairs of shoes. Three pairs are Crocs, one pair are some blue suede sneakers that I havent worn in 15yrs but kept for sentimental reasons, and then I have the brand new SAS Shoes sneakers that I bought about 2 weeks ago. First new pair of real shoes I've gotten in about 2 or 3yrs. (Crocs dont really count as shoes, even tho they're sooo comfy!)

I tossed out my old sneakers because someone's kid spit out a huge wad of gum at the grocery store and I stepped in it and got so grossed out at the huge amount of YUCK stuck to my shoes. (I HATE GUM!!) Just so grossed out that I couldnt stand to keep the sneakers. They were old anyways and I needed new ones.

I can't believe you are all going into your bathrooms or closets to count.

Well, HELLO! It gave us something to do. I guess I could put this on my list of things to do when I am bored.

Default Ladies please join me!

Please join me in celebrating a milestone in my life!

I no longer have to spend $20.00 each month on those "girly things"!!!

After 43 years of he77, it seems to be OVER!
I hear some women are sad when this happens but not me! I have been screaming every month "Come Onnnnn Menopause!" for years. It's been two months now and nothing, no cramping, nothing! Does this mean it's over??? (ohpleaseletitbeover!)

So that's one less thing I have in my bathroom! (there's actually nothing in there right now because I am tearing it out and redoing the whole thing!)

AS for shoes, 5, winter boots, sneakers, Tevas, slippers, and one pair of dress shoes...
