Default Grammar question?
I posted in a MS thread that I was contented with my life ... When I read it later, it looked and sounded incorrect to me. So I changed it to I am content with my life ... Then I did a google search and discovered a disagreement over which would be the correct form to use.

So would you use the word contented or content?

I also mentioned in my other post how I worry about everything.

I think content is correct, but either or could work. I think content ed is redundant..

I wouldn't worry about it, just be content with contented and stop worrying

Both are correct. Content is a verb (I am content) and contented is a noun (state of being - contented).

(I cheated and used dictionary dot com.)

could "contented" be past tense?

Not to be picky, but I think when used in a sentence such as "I am content", they are both adjectives and synonymous.

You can also use content as a verb: "I'll content myself with this"...

I'm a stickler for grammar, too, Barb.

I've never used "contented". I've always thought "content" was used exclusively for both present and past tense. I learned something new!
