Default Ok. I did it. be kind please

I did it. I have had such a hard time trying to figure out my hair problems, Yeah, it's vain but I wore my hair combed to the side since I was 15. I realized about a year ago it started to look like a come-over since my hair was receding in a runway pattern. I started combing it back about 8 months ago and my lady that cuts my hair gave me this "wax for men" to help give it "body". I did that since about October but still was not happy with my hair. I try not to be a vain person but this has bugged me. I have 4 cousins from my grandfather on my mothers side. They (I have no idea who the they are) say men get their hairline from their maternal grandfather, mine was bald. 1 of my cousins from that side of the family has a full head of thick hair. the other cousins shave their heads due to balding.

So I shaved my head today. Laura was really against it but I pointed out maybe I would look like Kenny Chesney, who she drools over. I said to her if it looks horrible, 3 months it will be growing in nicely and until then I can wear hats.

What do you think? Before and after. As I said in my title, be kind as I am not sure. This after picture was taken just after I shaved it so it still has some razor burn. My mother said she would pay her dermatologist to take the mole off my hairline (she wants that gone for years now) I probably will do that. At least my head isn't too terribly dented. (it has one in the back).

By the way, she says I don't look anything like Kenny Chesney, LOL Ouch.

Well, Earl, I think it looks just fine. Some days I wish I could shave my head.

If you like it and find it easier to care for then I say go for it! If you decide to let it grow back in you might find that it comes in thicker than it was before. Or a different texture.

Just for the record, I don't think you'd want to look like Kenny Chesney. Garth Brooks or Alan Jackson....okay. But Kenny Chesney.......nope.

I think you look younger bald. It looks good!

My boyfriend shaves his head, which I prefer for him to do. Not sure what it is about bald guys that I like.

I think shaving your head was a bold move, Earl! I like the way you look in both pictures and I like you bald the best. When it comes to hair, I believe we all needs to do what makes us most comfortable. So, keep it bald, let it grow out--either way you are looking just fine!

Thanks everyone. I am getting used to it and Laura actually likes it now too. overall the reviews are good.. one of my friends even said (her husband is bald) "God made a few perfect men, the rest have hair" LOL!!!!!

I shaved it with my old Fusion (with an old blade) - big mistake, major razor burn. Laura went out today and got me a specialized razor for heads called the HeadBlade. even has special shaving cream that is much thinner (in consistancy) than shaving gel or cream. The cream is called HeadSlick. the razor looks like a little matchbox car. it has little wheels on the back and the blade on the front and has a loop where your middle finger goes. it hasn't been used yet as I gave my follicles a break, but tomorrow I am breaking it in. I also have a large bottle of moisturizer and SPF40 sun block in one. I will keep my head coated at all times, even in a hat. my neighbor who has shaved for 11 years and has terrible sun spots.

My dad says he has wanted to do it for years but mom won't let him. he practically has no hair anyway.
