Default Strange thing happened after I posted my last thread

Before I posted my thead about the MS society I sent them an email about my issue and asked why I couldn't find any services for abusive situations for MSers.

Not long after my thread was posted, they emailed me back! They gave me some info and said they will be calling me tomorrow to see how they can help .

Call me paranoid but they responded so quickly to an email I sent to their "general information" department that I started to wonder if maybe they look for people on the web who might be posting negative things about them on MS boards .

I'm probably just nuts though .

I have no idea if they do, but if I had a business or an organization, I would certainly google myself and my company every day. Or have a google alert type of thing set up. It would be really important to me to be alert to whatever false information might be out there, and of course, negative stuff.

For some reason I wanna start singing Sweet Serendipity... cause something is certainly watching over you!

I sure hope they can get you some answers so you can move forward.

some companies have it set up after hours that automatically sends out a 'general' response .. and they want it to feel personal ..not as tho it's a 'thank you for contacting us ... ' sorta thing!

hope you are doing well!!

No, Vonn, this reply was detailed and very personal. It wasn't like a junk email.

I was very happy to hear from them. It also felt a little Twilight Zone-ish.

I was looking for a certain quilt item, had mentioned it in a post here, was googling in my search, read a blurb on lists of sites Google gave me and thought "That sounds just like me" It was me! Nothing is kept where it started in this age of computers. I googled DH and there he was mentioned. Excuse, going to go Google some ex-boyfriends now.

A good reminder that anything you post on a public forum is public, even if you don't use your real name.

Once, for "fun", I googled a couple of unique expressions that a friend of mine uses, and lo and behold, I found her on a message board. Sent her an email addressing her by her screen name. She nearly had a heart attack.

I said, Let that be a lesson to you. If a fat old semi-computer-literate sick person in the boonies can track you down...watch what you say.
