Default Google Plus - anyone interested?

Google has what I think will be the Facebook Killer on the horizon.

it's called Google+. Watch a video on it by one of my friends online named Ty Moss, he does lots of tech reviews and specifically Apple stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcIU-PW0ov0

It looks better than Facebook. I was invited by a friend to open a page during the beta version and it's MUCH better. you can make "circles" and categorize your friends, acquaintences(sp), co-workers, family, you can video chat, lots of stuff.

Check out the video, will you join Google+? will you abandon Facebook?

I just might.

It looks interesting. I only have family on my FB page. Just use it to keep up with out-of-state relatives and a few local ones.

Google Plus looks fun. In fact, I like the "circles" because you can categorize your friends and keep up with only the ones you're currently in touch with. And you don't have to "hide" anyone to do that.

It sounds good - I like that you can customize for yourself who can see what messages.

FB only has 3 options = friends, or friends of friends, or everyone...
should have more options or be customizable.

I signed up for alerts about Google Plus since it is invite only right now.

I can see all the young internet fanatics swamping over to G+ , but I will only follow if my family goes. It hasn't changed my mind about the friends thing though.

Despite the enormous amounts of time I spend on message boards I don't do any of those social network things. Just kind of get the skeeves thinking I might be contacted by a kindergarten classmate who I wouldn't remember if there was a cash prize or especially an ex, ick. Nope not interested.

With my job I could also get in hot water if my big mouth flapped something that wasn't considered appropriate and yes apparently they hire teams that just sit around and surf for employee's facebook stuff.

Bottom line is Jules has fans, stalkers if you will and needs to remain under the radar, lol.

Google + is by invite only right now, and they have over exceeded their expected #s and are not adding more right now. That should say something.

I no longer spend hours on the computer (cant see it) and spend less time on this machine than i used to. I am doing more audio books, and movies and stuff like that. I am interested in something better than FB tho. I currently have HUNDREDS of friends, but ya know what? I barely know these folks. I dont talk to my family except one, so that lets out that crowd. My DD isnt on this stuff, and DS only goes on when g/f lets him, and DH only talks to ex work mates. How did I end up with hundreds? I played games and needed neighbors. I got tangled in some MS circles and folks just kept adding me. Before I knew it was over 800! I hit 1000 once upon a time. I have been furiously knocking them down, and since I no longer play games, that did away with about 300. I came out and said I didnt believe CCSVI was a good thing and 200 dropped me. I dropped another 200 from Canada that were all about forcing their government to pay for CCSVI and im slowing getting the # down to something more reasonable.

I dont want to talk to some kids from HS that didnt want to talk me then, and couldnt give a carp about me now. I dont want to see little suzy's ballet dance, and I dont care how many fazzolle bucks you earned by spining the wheel of karma. I dont want my horoscope read, and I dont want to talk politics so...FB isnt the place for me anyway.

Maybe this new spot will allow folks to be more organized with their stuff. I do like Google.
