Default I got my cooling vest!!!!

My how life can change in a minute. In Phoenix at least. Normally, I spend ALL DAY EVERY DAY inside from May to October. That might be changing.

I got a cooling vest today!!! AND it was FREE!

I am wearing it right now and went out to let my dog out and was not overheating as I normally am. Lets see tomorrow how it handles a 3 hour outing to the range, but I DO have high hopes.

I'll post a photo later.

Free to keep, or is it a loaner?

I got a cooling vest on Amazon for around $40. I love it! It has removable ice panels that attach with velcro. I bought extra panels for about $10 a set. That way I have enough to last all day. I hope it works out for you, Earl.

years ago when I got my 'free' cooling vest from MSAA they say it is a loaner but they never ask for it back.

Default To KEEP

It was a gift from a friend of mine who makes Kool Tie wraps. He also used to make these and had a left-over.

Unlike the others I've seen, These don't require ice inserts. I submerge it in H2O for 2 minutes, hang on a hanger and ring out, then can wear it under clothes for up to 12 hours with only 2% coolness lowering. It's awesome!!

It really changes the way I feel about living in Arizona.

BTW, if you want to check out the Kool Ties, they are awesome, I have several of them. You soak them in H2O for 30 min and they stay cool for days. I wear them on my neck and wrists sometimes.

Same stuff as the boobie coolers I ordered. I have to say those were a good idea at the time, but not such a great investment. They go into your bra like inserts, supposed to keep your body cooler without the bulk of the vest.

BUT, I am flatchested and these things are huge so it looks like I am stuffing my bra, they bunch up on the bottom and after about 2 hours they begin to produce heat and you have to find cold water to submerge them again.

oh and upon further research this morning... I discovred the "magic" crystals that are inside the cooler things to keep you cool are the very same sodium polyacrylate crystals they use in diapers to absorb the pee. Man did I get shafted on these stupid insert things.
