Default Good news today

Made an appointment with eye doctor. Seems as if my continued vision loss in my left eye is due to a mature cataract ready to come out and not the optic neuritis which seems to be clearing.

That's good to hear Doydie. Cataract surgery is so quick and easy these days that you're in and out in a few hours, and they don't even need to use an anesthetic. It's all done under sedation like for other minor operations such as colonoscopies, so side effects are minimal. Glad the ON is clearing up.

Hi Doydie,
I have one too. A small one but right in the middle of my vision. If I wear lightly tinted amber sunglasses, on the computer and in the house it is not there. The Neuro-Op said because it colors over the light haze I have.

Mine is ready too, but I'm not. I don't wear any glasses for vision at all. And with 30 years of using stronger and stronger steroids during my relapses from heck, I thought I would have plenty by now. I don't.

It hasn't grown in years, just location, location, location. If it was in the corner I would leave it, but I know I will have to have it done.

He said they laser your retina lens off and replace it with a plastic one, then you need to wear glasses to read. I don't need glasses to read yet..so it's a wait and see for me. Plus if you are on aspirin 81 mgs baby aspirin or take vitamin E or Omega's you have to stop them before the surgery.

A friend of mine's eye bled so much they had a hard time stopping it from the aspirin all these years and she didn't stop it before. Make sure you ask all this Doydie.
Just some FYI, I thought I had O.N.too. Good luck

wow!!! that is great news Doydie! I'm so glad to hear a simple surgery can correct the problem instead of it being the ON!
