Default Hurricane Irene

I hope everybody is ok after the quake today. Ma nature really must have it in for all of you, storm going up the east coast. From about Jax to Boston r farther. Get your supplies in, or make arrangements to evacuate.

Stay safe everybody!

I'm praying it turns right and goes on out to sea.

My oldest son and his girlfriend are planning a vacation to the Dominican Republic next week. I hope that country didn't sustain too much damage and those people are alright. It looked like it went right over that country.

The WC is predicting Irene is going up the East Coast, after it does some damage in the Bahamas and may be a cat 4.

I remember the last Hurricane that came up the East coast, a few years back, that brought in 80/90 MPH winds to SWOhio and took down trees, roofs, wires and cut out our power for over a week.

I pray that this is not going to lead to another Ohio hurricane. We have lots of tornadoes, TYVM, we don't need hurricanes too. Just like VA didn't need a Quake.

Take precautions out there to stay safe..

The last time richmond was hit with a hurricane (Gaston). Funny story looking back on it from the night I was stuck on a hill in a parking lot with 50 other people for 4 hours because they were shutting down the roads and blocked us in without making sure the ones already in the road were out....followed by getting less than a mile from home when a policeman tried to tell me to turn around and go back the way I came that I was not getting through...I probably would have gone to jail that night for threatening to run him over...if only HE could get to the jail. He was stuck too.

Followed by trying to get to my sick child the next day to bring her her meds and I had to park half a mile away and walk through the downed trees and power lines.

9 days without electricity.... my office flooded and we were the lucky ones watching the others rebuild.

First pic was one of the cars stranded in the road that night. This was the same spot the firetruck tried to drive through later that night and they lost the engine.

Second is a shot of historic downtown Richmond the day after.

And this was the year after Isabel hit which did more damage near my house. Here are pics of Isabel!
After an earthquake this week followed by what they cannot determine to be aftershock or another little quake last night, the bottom has dropped here already with sever storm warning until 11. I am so NOT in the mood for another hurricane.

Mind you, richmond is 90 miles from the coast. I am a lot closer to water now. NOT COOL.

Those pics and thinking it is Richmond which isn't even on the coast is scary! Just when I was telling myself that the Balto/DC area doesn't ever get hit really hard.

OMG if I have to go more than two days without electricity I'll be posting from a hotel inland somewhere with all my critters and DH.

OMG, Leggz, I'm glad my DSSon and DW were not living in Richmond in 2004.. And I'm so sorry you were there..

They felt the first although not the second earthquake and are gearing up for Irene.

I'm still praying for Irene to do an about face and veer out to open sea!!!

Stay safe y'all..

This really stinks. First I'm shaken in my house with quakes, now I'm going to be swimming in the parking lot.

This is not a good year. Even the snow was too, too much.

Okay, who made Mother Nature mad this year?

I'm on the East Coast near the water, not on it, oh the fun, NOT!

Stay safe everyone.

the current track takes it directly over my city! eeeek!!!!

I am well prepared, and we are well stocked here. We can also go OFF the grid for many months. The farm next door is fully stocked with fresh milk daily and eggs. We have been helping them button up the farm stuff.

Scary! Mother nature is upset and she isnt about to shut up.
