Red face Adventures with locksmiths and more...

Yesterday I went to this center for 'women in troubled relationships' to register for their.support group. It was an emotional and stressful day to baring with.

I went in to register and fill out some paperwork. When I was done with that I had to wait to see a counselor. I decided to go to my car and get my ice water.

Well, I start digging in the black hole that I call my purse , looking for my keys. I dumped that sucker out three times. No keys.

I realized that when I put my gps under my car seat, I had my keys in the same hand and must've put my keys there too, .

I called the police but they couldn't help. The only person who has an extra key for my car is the husband! I called a locksmith who said he could be there in an hour for $100. I didn't have any other options so I said ok.

Lo and behold 10 minutes later a locksmith van pulls up! I thought "wow, that was fast!". Turns out this was a DIFFERENT locksmith who was there to do some work for the center. The security guard told them my situation and they offered to do my car for free ! I canceled the locksmith I had originally called.

They got my car unlocked AND made me an extra key ! I gave them a $20 tip that I practically had to beg them to take. It's so nice to see some genuinely nice men in the world . It took them nearly 45 minutes to get into my car because my windows are tinted and they could hardly see what they were doing (my car's interior is black). What sweeties they were!

I saw the counselor/advocate, she was great. By that time I was exhausted and starving. I decided to stop at a deli near my home to get a sandwich.

After I was done eating, I got my debit card out to pay. When I did this my drivers license 'jumped out' too! It slid across the booth and went between the booth and the wall, ARGH! The busboy had to pull the seat out and remove the wooden part attached to the wall to get my license . Another big tip for him .

I decided I had better go home and sit for the rest of the day . I have to go out again today. I wonder what kind of havoc I'll cause? Wish me luck .
