Default I Need To Get Away!!!

Not a vacation, vacations take planning and are hard work. Or not off to an exotic romantic Island, DH is deceased and I'm too old to chase anyone around the beach (it's tough to run on the hot sand without falling.

I need a break from my MS, my age, myself! Where do I go to get away from myself? A fantasy, that's what I need. Let's see, who do I want to be? hmmmmmmmm? Someone Young, with no worries, no stresses, no sickness!

Help me escape!!!!

I could probably think of someone young with no sickness, but no worries or stress? That WOULD be a fantasy. You'll have to make somebody up.

I get away with a good book with my cat warming me and feet up in my soft comfy recliner.

I hope our time at the beach in 3 weeks will be warm enough and not to windy and all of our temperments merge well. I think I can 'get away' if I hear the ocean

I wonder if a movie marathon might suit the bill Sal?

You could get 2 or 3 of your favourite movies to watch. How about your favourite movie from when you were a little girl, one starring your favourite heart throb from your teenage years, or maybe one that reminds you of your early courtship days with DH.

If movies go too long to keep your interest, you could choose re-runs of your favourite TV shows from 20 years ago. You would need to stock up on chocolates, oreos, pop corn etc, then put your feet up and drift away into a couple of hours of sweet memories.

That sounds so nice that I might even join you Sally.

Doydie's mention of the beach reminded me of something I did several years ago......pre-MS.

I was having a really bad day - work was unbelievably busy and I was just overwhelmed with life. I just wanted to dig a hole and crawl in.

My oldest son had a white noise machine by his bed. It had recorded sounds of many different things (rain, thunderstorms, crickets, etc.) but the one that made me relax was the sound of the ocean. I would turn that noise maker on, close my eyes and in a few minutes I was lying on a white, sandy beach somewhere listening to the waves crash around me. I could go to Aruba or Jamaica or Hawaii......anywhere I wanted to. It was my get-away without having to (physically) go anywhere.

I really need to get one of those machines now.

I need to go someplace man free! someplace where I dont have to smell that manly smell or deal with folks that dont see what women see. A woman walks into a room, and by the time she crosses it, its MUCH cleaner, neater, and straight. by the time a man crosses it, his dirty socks are now laying in the floor, there are muddy feet prints, the channel is now changed to violence, something got crushed under thier feet, and food is now dropped where they sit. UGH! I cant keep up!

Im with sal, even tho I feel like I cant get out of the driveway because i am not able, I need to get out of here! how bout if I rent a bungalow in Florida and we all show up and have a hang out PJ party. I will hire good looking men to wait on us, serve us, and bring us treats.

Maybe a Gimp Cruise with a private cabanna boy/girl for each one of us. (clean with clean socks or no socks )

Actually, after giving this some deep thought, there is noone else that I would rather be than me. Someone sugested reading a good book and it's true, My new Kindle book reading takes me into a fantasy world, once in a while.

Did you ever watch Star Trek? The pilot episode is where/who I would want to be.

It was with the pilot badly burned and in a box with only his head showing and the horribly deformed woman transformed into a beauty.

Both lived on the planet where the good aliens gave the two hallucinations of health.

Did you watch Star Trek?
