Those that say stupid things like that, I have a few of those friends and family members, I want to take a stapler and staple their big toe and tell them to will it a way. Maybe they can wish an infected splinter away too. Not going to happen.

I think, some people talk from their mouth, before thinking with their brains.

I think this man has mostly eye problems and when he has a relapse, it makes walking difficult. Then he returns to near normal. I wish him well, but I don't think he willed it away. Exercise can help with muscles and balance, but not if there is too much damage. JMO

I wasnt exactly posting the link because I thought it was inspirational. Because, really, it isnt. He's a guy who's run a bunch of marathons, who just happens to also have MS.

I was only posting it because I thought other people might want to read it.

I wasn't inspired by it, just simply reminded that we do have some power to effect change no matter how large or small. Even if that change is a slight shift in perspective even for an hour, or 30 seconds. As someone with depression and mobility challenges, some days that is all there is.

My sister sent me an "inspirational" video, a guy with no arms and no legs speaking at a school, living his life. Does MS make look so handicapped to her? She forgot (I think) she sent it, a year later sent it again. She's really, really nice but I guess I'm not cause she p*$$3$ me off. Oh well, she means well, but it ends up depressing me!

I was just thinking about how my frame of mind influences my take on a story (not just this one, but ANY story). Depending on my given mood, I might think "Interesting story", "Wow, that's inspiring!" or "Thanks for reminding me I'm a loser". And that's just stories I catch on the news or somebody here shares, never mind when a "helpful" friend passes one along!
