Confused How to take a break...

When you're sick of your job, you take a day off. When you're sick of your house, you go for a ride. When you're sick of the tv, you turn it off for a while. When you're sick of oatmeal every morning, you fry a couple of eggs. What do you do when you're sick of yourself?

If you figure it out, please let me know because I am really sick of myself right now.

I'm not sure. That's a good question. I guess when I get tired of being with myself, I seek out others. Maybe I go visit one of the neighbors or hang out at DD21s or go to my Mom's house. Just something. It helps and I find that it can be really inspiring as well. My neighbor (she's 84), has lots of fun stories from when she was a teacher. My other neighbor (she's 74), not only has amazing stories about her life but is such a talented artist and has done all sorts of different kinds of work from drawing to quilting designer. Just amazing. These help me as they shift my focus from being sick of my self to being motivated and inspired.

I do get what you are saying. Most days I sit here by myself all day. Some days I am ok with it but others I get tired of just having myself to talk to. I bore myself.

Have an affair or read a good absorbing mystery.

Think about the things you are most sick of and that you have some degree of control over, then make a plan for how to change them. If done successfully, executing that plan will feel incredibly liberating.

I either watch HGTV, Lifetime Movie Network, or Mystery Diagnosis...it distracts my thoughts.
I also read some uplifting material that changes my perspective, and helps me let go of the judging self...
