Dann does not know how it happened. After work, he came home to the apartment and Maimy did not greet him at the door.

I shared Dann's link on FB and a couple Neurotalk friends shared it on their own profile. And again, thank you for moving my post. It feels awkward to post hoping others will move it forward.

But I love my son and he loves his cat.

I am very touched by Maimy's story and their devotion to her. I donated and sent a picture for a small portrait of one of my furbabies. I hope they are able to raise enough money to pay the bill.

I wanted to add:

In my opinion there couldn't be a more proud feeling than having raised a son who is this kind to animals and willing to do whatever needs to be done to honor the committment he made when he brought this cat into his life. Kudos to you.

@Jules. Wow. thank you.

in the past, I have donated to many non profit causes. Susan B. Komen; MS Society; American veterans; Katrina; typhoon relief; tsunami relief; turkeys for local homeless shelter; toys for tots; angel gift from mall; donated clothes; toys for a shelter for abused women and children; cash or food to people with signs on a street corner; serving xmas dinner at a shelter.

I am sure your lists are as long if not longer. There is a certain amount of satisfaction to giving.

This is the first time giving has been so close to home. @Jules. You have no idea the feeling you have given to me by commissioning Jillian.

But I was thinking of Dann's emotions and the ripple effect of the people that have come to help Maimy.

My son has always been good, kind and generous. What happens now will affect him for his entire life. There are many defining moments in one's life. I have a good guess this is one of his that will forever shape his view of those around him, friends and strangers.

To those of you that have given to Dann or are planning to do it but just have not gotten around to it, thank you. I think you have created a philanthropist. At least, once he gets out of debt!

I think this is a situation where a terrible thing happened but much good is coming from it. I hope Maimy can feel all the love!

Update.

Got a call from DS tonight. DH talked to him so the details are fuzzy.

A woman who saw his blog has commissioned him to build a website. It is some sort of animal website.

I will keep you posted. Maimy is getting cat heroin to keep him sleeping so that he will heal.
