Default What price for love?

For many, no amount of money is too much to help their cat/dog when injured/sick.

With that in mind, DS came home from work to find his cat hiding hurt. Emergency vet and operation = lots of money. More than he has at the moment.

He builds websites/blogs and will work for paying his vet bill. The cost is modest, he just wants to pay for the cat surgery.

So if you are interested, PM me and I will get you in touch with a good young man who loves his cat enough to pay a big bill.

You will get your money's worth and he will pay the vet for the price of love.

Cyn, I sure do hope DS's cat is going to be alright. I think most of us would do most anything to help our pets. I know I would. God bless him for caring so much.

My heart goes out to him. We just fixed a terrible virus crash, and could have used his services!

Our Oreo is also having a major Vet $$ crisis... thousands! and being taken advantage of by specialists too. I found a more humane vet to handle Oreo's rare cancer and he is doing palliative therapy to make her last months more comfortable.
We are in day 5 of steroid management, instead of invasive surgeries, and she is back to her old self. (she is 13)
The prognosis with $5000 surgery is only 3-4 months longer than with steroids to shrink the tumors. The other vet would not give this option, and I found a compassionate vet to do it just as a fluke. We know her time is short, but I'd rather she enjoy being a cat than suffering on a cushion from chronic pain.

I posted this link this weekend about a family who found an abandoned paralyzed kitten...they are using the net to bring their problem to other pet owners, and your son may find doing something similar helpful too.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread159203.html

My heart goes out to your son. We have suffered much anxiety and pain, over this and I can only imagine what your son is going thru!

The cat's back leg is broken in three places. He said Maimonides (Maimy for short) is being operated on today. The vet wanted $4,000 up front and the balance later.

His GF lent him the money. What a good GF! She is a huge cat lover too. I am sending what little I can spare but even for us, it is a lot of money.

He loves his cat, a rescue cat. He does not want anything for free, he is very willing to work and his internet work is excellent.

@Kitty. Thank you and thank you for asking to repost this on the Social Chat forum.

I wanted to share this website here so everyone might benefit from it. I've never personally used it but it looks like a site that might provide some help to those that need it.

Maimonides made it through surgery, still in vet care. He may be picked up today, it is DS's day off.

Wow! Just checked DS's FB and one of his artist roommates is taking up the vet payment cause by offering her painting! Here is the link to see her work!

That is really nice.... she is good too!

You know we've always had cats... but lately it is getting to be monsterously expensive for vet care.

When Oreo passes, we will only keep Weezie. I was tempted to get another kitten, but with the thousands we have spent on Oreo-- without including the proposed surgery for $5000 which I declined--- we just can't do it.

I think people who have pets now should put away a small bit of cash each week-- the cost of a Starbucks even--- in an acct reserved for that pet's eventual medical care.
Sort of like "pet social security"....

Typical surgery is $60 a MINUTE. Not counting the pain meds, anesthetic, blood work, Xrays, and all the rest! It takes your breath away!

I wonder if your son's artist friend has thought to approach the Vet for providing some animal art for the clinic? Her colorful work applied to cats/dogs would be wonderful in that setting.
