Default Oh, the sound of silence!

Leftovers were eaten for lunch, every gone, some leftovers thrown away, others sent off with people. It's just the husband and me here now. The cat has been let out of the closed room and she is going around marking everywhere the kids have been. Time for quiet time

The rainbow after the storm, the quiet after the fun - all part of the journey.

An elderly friend of mine used to say "I love my grandchildren! I love to see their little round faces coming in the door, and I love to see their little round bottoms going out!"

I love having my kids home from college but my room in off the family room, guitars are playing, DD and her friend are coming in, the dogs are barking, it's my bedtime, sure I'll miss them Monday?

Our grandsons were here for almost a 24 hour visit, which was fine. I did find it to be just a tad too brief since we normally have them visit from a Friday night through late Sunday afternoon. Actually, they are both quite well behaved at ages 8 and 6. The 6 year old could be a clone of me with his personality. I simply tell my daughter paybacks are hell sometimes.
