Back in the old days (pre-MS), I used to take at least one whole day, turn down the thermostat, turn up the music and let 'er rip...Cookie Day! I used to mail them to my brother and parents, cart them to the neighbors, fill all the canisters.

The favorites were the raspberry-filled butter cookies, and what we call "yoyos", a thin mint melted between two chocolate cookies. Then pecan pie bars, kissies (the peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss), peanut butter swirl bars, cream cheese squares, and last but not least, spritz cookies.

I have my grandmother's cookie press. Mom used to make hundreds of spritz cookies, especially the ones with a half maraschino cherry in the center. She said those were the cookies that caught my father back in 1945.
