Default Cookie miracle!
Well, that might be a teeny exaggerated, but it was still neat.

I made my pecan pie bars this afternoon, and went to get my extra bag of flour to dump in the canister...uh, WHAT extra bag of flour? Are you KIDDING me??

I have about three cups of flour...and I was planning to make a batch of cookies, and then tomorrow morning a double batch of biscuits! Well, so I'll make a one-and-a-half batch of biscuits (my son would never forgive me if there were no biscuits) and no second kind of cookies.

Then, two different people showed up at the door bearing cookies! I know, getting cookies given to you at Christmas doesn't exactly fall into the miracle category, but it sure helped my frustration at being a flour moron. There will be fewer biscuits, but my son only lives ten miles from me, so I'll make him a batch after Christmas.

I mostly make bar cookies, so much less work. Pecan pie bars, peanut butter swirl bars, cream cheese bars, raspberry squares, oatmeal scotchie bars, maple bars, etc.

One person brought us a plate of about ten different fancy cookies that I can't see myself making in my wildest dreams. Almost hate to share them.

My son's girlfriend made all kinds of cookies.....and brought me a huge assortment of them yesterday!! Chocolate covered pretzels, iced sugar cookies, brownie cookies, cheese straws, coconut cookies). They were all wonderful. I love the gift of cookies!

My Sson and his wife brought me a variety pack of chocolate covered pretzels from VA. I am not crazy about them. I'd like the pretzels to be softer. These, although delicious, would break your teeth.

Maybe I'll just lick off the delicious coatings.
