Same thing I've done for the past 10 years.......go to bed early......wake up when I hear the fireworks........tell the cats "Happy New Year".......then go back to sleep.

If all goes well as usual I will be working.

This did bring back fond memories of when I was a child and our family had a little party at home with shrimp, onion dip and soda! Lol it sounds silly but that was a big deal "back in the day".

My parents used to have sparkling cider for us on New Year's Eve.
Mom would fix a cheese ball and have Wheat Thins and pretzels. And Dad would fix his famous cocktail weiners in bbq sauce that we'd eat with different colored tooth picks. We thought we were somethin'!

Having fun with all my family after celebrating Christmas. Then I'll fall in bed exhausted and think of all the fun we had and also grin a bit. My precious tow little grand kids have their Grandpa wrapped around their fingers. He wakes up with them whatever time they do and they invade the kitchen with him. He lets my daughter and son in law sleep in. He can be a bear many times but is a kitten when it comes to those two girls. Then we will go out to the cemetary.

New Year's Eve...hmmm. The last time I stayed up until midnight I thought "This is it?" We used to celebrate at 9, but now we celebrate at 8. We say "It's midnight somewhere. Happy New Year." and go to bed. Pray for the people out on the road.

My parents used to stay up and watch the ball come down, say Happy New Year, and kiss. As many years as I can remember starting when I was old enough to stay up until twelve, and ending January 1, 1998...the last New Year that Dad was alive.

When I was little, we each got a sparkler to twirl in the snow- lovely. We'd have special food w a silver dollar at the bottom of the dish- one for each of us. We were allowed to stay up until midnight- I don't remember if I made it or not.

Since I have been too tired to attempt even a short time at First Night, we have watched it on TV. Usually PizzaGuy (SO) would pick up Chinese take out.

Last year we were in PA w my Mom and did the same thing- actually made it to midnight.

This year we may take Chinese to P's Mom and watch some of the festivities.

None of the above require dressing up!

Try to make it to midnight and watch the ball drop. Then the phone will
ring and both kids calling me to wish me a Happy New Year. Then it's sleep
time.

Everyone was here for Christmas so New Years will feel very lonely.

I'm so worn out from having the family (DD,SIL, DS, DD#2, 18 m/o grandson,3 extra doggies, all added to our small house that's just the right size for me, DH and our 8month old standard poodle) here over Christmas week that just the thought of doing something New Years Eve makes me tired!
I vote for renting a movie and cuddling up with my hubby, poodle and some snacks and calling it a night! Don't get me wrong I love my family and all of the holiday celebrating but I'm all FaLaLa 'ed out!
